NJHC thanks again!

A couple more questions for u. on the safc which wires or the ecu side would be the fuel input and output i didnt see them on there... also I have a vortech fmu with a 12 to one disc in it. i just havent istalled it. Would that be better for my application than the fpr.

how do you figure. the safc is just one more way of altering fuel (via injector pulse and duration.) Now I have herad the argument that its bad for boost due to the fact that it cant read it like an fmu and fpr but if you have a wideband it wouldnt make a difference. no to mention you can use it to fine tune your idel for bigger injectors. so I ask agian whats wrong with an SAFC

because you can only tune it to rpm, hence if you have it set to add +10% fuel at 3500 rpm, it adds it at that rpm whether there's boost or not, if there's not, its too rich. And for the money, you can go emanage for another $100 or so, and have the capability to control timing as well. Or spend half of what you would on an SAFC and run Megasquirt, which gives you total control and can practically tune itself. So, I say again, SAFC is junk for tuning. Can it work? Yes, but why would you spend that kind of money on something with such limited capability?

oh, and beyond that? how the hell would adam know what wires to hook up the SAFC to on a 2200? he owns an eco, and since he admits hes not mechanically inclined, pays shops to do his work for him... Not that there's anything wrong with that, people like him keep me in business

I understand what you mean but I think what turns most people (and my self) away from megasquirt and other stand alones is the complixty.

Dude, believe me when I say this, but if your car does what the 3 other 03+ boosted ecos that I mentioned in your other thread.... you will kick yourself in the ass for having wasted your money and time on an safc when really the ONLY thing its good for is compensating for bigger injectors at idle. We've had problems getting emanage to work with the eco pcm, or i'd recommend that, which is why i recommend megasquirt. I'm not going to tell you that its simple, but if you can read a diagram to hook up an SAFC, then you can do the same with the Megasquirt, (as long as you buy a pre-built unit, Rich built his own). The other advantage to megasquirt is that it can tune itself to your desired a/f ratio using your wideband as an input, which frankly is a brilliant feature that you don't get even with most $1000+ standalones... MS is a deal and a half and if my car wasn't sponsored by a chiptuning company, i'd have probably gone that route myself.
