ok compression, but lots of smoke

ok, we just rebuilt my engine; its a 2.2ohv turbo.

we put in new gapless piston rings, new clevite bearings, and all new gaskets, and didnt touch the head.

now there is a rediculous amount of smoke coming from the exhaust, and the spark plugs have alot of oil on them.

we did a compression test and everything was fine...i think. 1st stroke-150 psi, 2nd stroke and so on-180ish psi. and when we stopped cranking it held pressure. the test was the same for all cylinders.

So, my question is, where is all of this oil coming from?

if more info is needed let me know
thanks

High oil pressure blowing through your turbo oil seals.

Sorry, skipped the spark plugs thing, is it blowing by in your crankcase breather tube?

if youre talking about the thing on the valve cover.....then no...its wide open to the air right now and nothing is coming out of it

possibly bad valve guides i think spdracer was having oil drip in from the guide, also did you take your charge pipe off and check it for oil?

i was also thinking bad valve guides....i wish there was a way to check that....

I'll go check the charge pipes for oil. What would it mean if there was oil in the charge pipes?

only real way to tell if its your guides is to pull the head out and check valve clearance by measuring the valve stem and guide.

iirc .010 is acceptable...

does this happen all the time, or does it stop once you've warmed up?

Dead baby in the cylinder, seen it a thousand times.

seriously tho, turbo would be the place to start.
