i was checking the price for turbo pipeing, mandrell bend is very expensive, so i guess my question is it necessary? or can you use crush bend

If you mean for exhaust, mendrel is worth it if you're boosting.

DO NOT get crush bends. Their bends will more than likely misrupt the exhaust flow and decrease performance.

If you mean for charge piping or exhaust, go to summit racing and order a few tight radius j-bends. You can do your charge piping(for an Ecotec anyways with 5 bends

If you are doing the intercooler piping, go with aluminum mandrel bends. My friends kit off of e-bay was $135 shipped. That's with 2 90's, 2 45's, 2 75's, and 2 straight pipes. All the pipes are 18" long. Plus, it came with 6 straight couplers and 2 90 degree couplers and a bunch of clamps. However, the clamps are just worm gear style, but the rest of the kit is worth the money. I think the thickness is around a 1/8" or more, it's decently think, definetly weldable. BTW, if you have access to a welder for aluminum, I would cut and weld the piping as much as possible, looks so much better than having all the couplers everywhere.
Just look on ebay for the kit if u r intrested, make sure u don't get the kit that only has 90's in it.

yah i was looking at that kit, i was thinking about getting the u bends from summit racing in 18 guage alluminum, would this be really heavy or do you think that it would be better to go with the kits from ebay. thamks

I ordered an ebay kit as well. Its light and you can pretty much do any piping setup you want. Just double check to make sure everything will fit before you start hacking away at it. The only downside was the worm clamps but hey they will work to get you going and then the t-bolts you can find cheap if you look at the right places. I will try to get pictures of mine up hopefully the end of this week once my turbo setup is complete.
