Hi ppl, will I notice alot of difference running 5psi on stock internals and with a 3spd ?
I mean like 30-50 horse power ?
Is there any boosted 3spd that has dynoed his/her car ?

that should be good for something in the 15s. save another 1000 or so for rods and pistons and some other beefier materials, + larger injectors and other supporting mods and throw 15psi it

^ The 3 speed can be a stout trans when build just ask event.
i got the 3 speed 2.2 to do high 14 at 10 psi on stock internals. And i beat the bag out of that 140k miles tranny all day everyday, including N drops at the track and on the street ive got a spare in case this one goes but for now ill continue to beat it. When i started out at 4psi i swore it wasent a comparable car anymore you wont be dissapointed. Next year ill do a shift kit to it and hopefully pick up a tenth or maybee a little bit more with that alone. but plan for high 15's at the track it took me many times to get to where i am now and lots more of trial and error in tuning. I hope you're kidding about the $1000...it will be more than that just for the machining you'd need/want...$1000 will get you the rods and pistons, but that's it. Add new gaskets, fluids, machining, bearings, and removal/installation if you can't do it yourself, plus downtime, and it's way too expensive for 5 psi. However, Lee up there ran 15 psi on stock internals without a hitch, so we still don't know what they're capable of...
But I agree, 3spd all the way. How many 4 speeds have given out now? every one?

ya Ronald I saw your post... GREAT time for an auto man ..... if that same car was manual you'd be a 14.5 with a good 60'............ keep it up... hows the new motor treating you .....
I think you should get a manual... I'm in the 14.6 - 14.4 range at 6 psi.... with manual and no 3" exhaust..........

How many guys with 3 speeds are making enough hp to break a 4 speed????
I've been beating the @!#$ out of my car for the last 5 years. I've been threw 3 motors, 2 nitrous systems, and 2 different turbos and the only thing stock on my car these days is my 4T40E 4 speed trans. I'm currently making a hair over 300hp and it hasn't broke yet.
