Help Please
Thursday, October 27, 2005 1:35 PM
My supercharged Z24 has a slight problem. If I tap the gas from an idle it will come back down and either surge or stall. Sometimes it does this when I come to a stop. I just replaced the IAC, both O2 sensors, and TPS. Anybody got a clue what would cause this?

My car does this all the time. Check your plugs.

Aren't they supposed to be 0.050?

OK I just put some Denso Iridium plugs in it and it runs so much better. They are gapped around .045. I didnt want to change the gap in fear that I might break an electrode because they are so small.

Even though you said yo replaced it, it still sounds like a TPS problem. Check the electrical connections and probe the back of the plug to see what it is reading.

on my scan tool it reads 0% at idle and 100% at WOT and is accurate in between.

When my bike does that, I've got the pilot jets open a little too far. You're probably too rich at idle. How do your plugs look? Any black smoke when you blip the throttle off of idle?

plugs look normal. Light brown and not wet. no black smoke, but just under redline at wide open throttle it will puff a little black smoke. Also at WOT it runs rich.

check your vacuum lines for leaks, cracks, crimps, missing or loose lines.

I have checked over every vac line in the car. everything is in order. I am thinking it might be the Fuel pressure regulator.
