rodimus prime and I have been trying to find an exact plug to fit the ecotec and he has come up with that the SRT-4 plug and our plugs are the same size, thread pitch and everything, so I being the test dummy for the msd will no also be the test dummy for the plugs.. I have my set orderd and will let you all know.
I ordered the NGK Plugs 4306 $2.44 a piece
But they also list a Champion iridium Plug 9403 $8.11 a piece
both plugs can be purchased at

Actually the OEM plug for an SRT4 is a champion copper plug p/n RE14MCC5 also known as 470
NGK also has a plug that is slightly longer at 25.4mm reach and is a step colder that part number is LZTR5A-13 stock number 4306
Numerous other cars use a 25mm plug not just the SRT4, the 2004 focus 2.0 engine also uses a 25mm plug with the same specs, that is not as good because its not a factory turbo car, other NA cars are Stratus, Concorde, Magnum, the Chrysler 2.4 NA engine, the list goes on etc. however the most easy to find is the SRT4/Cruiser GT plugs, theres more of an aftermarket for them, I gathered on srtforums.com the info pertaining to the two p/ns listed above. These are the two most popular and have had good results gapped at .040

25mm is stock length

well let us know how they work. I really don't like using a shorter plug like the autolite 103's

another plug to try is the denso 5339 a few have tried that several months ago with some success

Those LZTR5A-13 are the stock heat range though they are copper instead of platinum, however, they're 26.5MM reach instead of our 25MM.
I don't like the thought of an additional 2.5mm in the combustion chamber that wasn't there before. Not to mention that it's additional length will change the effective heat change in our application making it a hotter plug.
my autolite's worked perfect

the ngks are actually 25.4 reach

I'm not quite certain where you're getting 25.4, but they are in fact 26.5. The company that I work for works hand in hand with NGK on a daily basis. I have spoken to my contact there (one of the engineers) re: various plug options for the ecotec and the plug in question is 26.5MM vs our 25MM. I've also checked in our 2005 NGK catalogue to confirm what he stated and even went so far as to get one of the R&D guys to measure one with a vernier.
I've seen a few online listings show it as a 25.4 but tack that up to everyone using the same crossover database.
No easy options for us
thats odd because a few places I called said 25.4, I will measure it when they get here

So did we decide the NGK's were better than or that
they are slightly too long???
I'm about to get new plugs for my turbo eco myself and

im not turbo but im runnin acdelco rapidfire # 5's recomended by rsm.
car seems to run smoother since i put em in.
turbo is different requires colder plugs
The 2.0 motor doesn't use tapered seat plugs.
the rapidfire #5s are for a 2.4 not suitable
1989 Turbo Trans Am #82, 2007 Cobalt SS G85
Not only do the Redline/SS not use tapered seat plugs, GM wised up and used 3/4" reach plugs instead of our wacky 1" reach plugs.
GM even went so far as to drill out the head to fit 3/4" plugs in their race motors to make plug selection easier.
My engineering contact at NGK says that the stock platinum plug will work well enough with upwards of 20psi of boost so long as one closes the gap to 0.035". While a colder, non platinum plug is optimal, it's not a requirement and a fair number of newer factory turbo cars are being speced with OE platinum plugs with a small gap.
so are you supposed to run stock plugs at .035?

what do u mean there not suitable, rsm recomended them and the cars is running very smooth with them in it.
rsm runs stock ac delcos in their ecotec race car, the rapidfire is too short of a plug

trust me do NOT argue with rodimus on RSM he has their names tattooed on his anus
