its possible
just put the cavy upper engine mount(aluminum piece that connects to the head.)
and
swap the oil pan out w/ one off a 2.2 eco.
then there ya go it fits in

I'm going to call BS on that one since I've already tried doing this swap. I already had the engine when I bought my S/C setup. Everything will swap, yes... however what did you use to control the engine? Certainly not the factory electronics. There is also more to this than just the oil pan and upper engine mount. You have to trim and fit your IDI cover to fit into the trim for the coblat because it
uses 4 individual coilpacks. Another item is the oil cooler would have to be blocked off, there is not enough room in our engine bay (
without add'l modification) to utilize it.
If you search for this you will find my attempt in the photos section on the org from sometime last summer. The crank on the 2.2 motor has 7 marks for timing pickup, the 2.0 motor has approx 100. This would not run on the stock computer/electronics. Of course people were saying I've seen it done, or I know someone who did it so this will be great!!! Blah blah, when I proved otherwise no one could be found.
That last profile that someone linked us to, I beleive... right in his profile he lists: SDS EFI complete Standalone management system
Which would be one way around the timing issue. So if someone isn't using a standalone or swapped every electronic option (including the drive-by-wire throttle body) from a cobalt/ion then they are just full of BS.

Jon, I don't think you read the profile closely enough.
People, YES the engine bolts up no problem. However, due to the crank timing marks being different, the stock ecu will NOT fire the engine.
If you read the guy's profile that completed the swap, you will notice he's using a SDS engine management system to power it.
