Oil management (say no to blue smoke)

Orifice, needle valve....

I have two orifices in my feed line (-4AN, two 1/16" orifices). At cold start-up, with oil pressure in the 80 psi neighbor, I get some blue smoke when I rev it but not otherwise. Nothing after the oil has thinned up.

Two questions, how you are you controlling the oil feed, and how's it working for you? And second, how can you tell when your turbo seals are junk? My rebuild was 'rebuild' when I bought it, but I don't know whether to trust the Ebay guy or not.

Built not bought, check that!

ive seen some people using manual valves that can be opened and closed by hand, when the little pinhole valve things dont work well enough. frankly, i have a hahn kit on my eco which uses a mitsubishi turbo and a -3an feed line, and it doesn't have any problems even when its getting the full pressure.

Blue smoke is good for the enviroment!

I run no restrictors. People can smell me buring oil, but I think my turbo seals have seen better days.

Why should I need a restrictor? What do factory turbo cars use?

O noes!

My turbo has a 4an feed, no restrictors, and no problems.

My oil line kit had a restrictor built into it... no smoke for me.

I get some blue smoke every now and then but I wasn't sure if it was coming from the turbo or the engine lol... Maybe the turbo. I have a T where the stock oil pressure sending unit was which T's off into the aftermarket sending unit and goes to the turbo as a feed line. How can I restrict this because my gauge is reading 50 psi sometimes, which means the turbo is seeing that too... and I've heard that turbo's aren't supposed to see much oil pressure.

Thanks

Is that a good idea? Cold start up my oil pressure is between 40-50 and will go to almost 75 on revving. After the car is warm it idles right around 25 psi and when I get on it goes to about 50 psi... would this thing work good or would not enough oil go to the turbo? Anyone use one of these?

You couldn't see my car if it was at a stop, completely smoke screened. I guess the seals in the junkyard turbo had seen better days -4AN no restrictor, I know I was getting too much pressure.
