Hey guys I am getting to much oil to my turbo. I was wondering what you guys did to solve this problem. I am using 1/4 inch plug off the sending unit, to 4an oil line to 1/8 inch NPT fitting into the turbo its self.
I ended up spinning a rod bearing. I think it was due to not enough flow to the rod.
Also is there any kind of High volume oil pump for the 2200?
That thing is awsome. Thanks alot for the quick response.
I just used a pressure regulator from an air compressor supply store.
No leaks after 3 months of use.
IIRC turbo's should not see more then 30psi of oil pressure ever. (I could be wrong)
Im surprised you didn't blow the seals out on your turbo.

Its a BIG Turbo. Its off my brothers Grand National. Those who were at the bash have seen it PVC and all. lol
Any one got any ideas for high volume oil pumps?
You should probably use a -3AN line.
Can the 2200s use the pre-94 oil pumps?

yes, apparently some remanufacturing companies opt to sell the pre 94 pumps as 94+ pumps just for the fact they flow more oil but have a lower pressure release in them.
94+, iirc, doesn't push as much of a volume of oil but has a higher pressure relief valve.

I have a 99 2.2, and I am not using a restrictor in the oil feed line for my turbo. The car has been turboed for around 12,000 miles with no problems....no spun rod bearings, no smoke coming from turbo, and no shaft play.I think that I am also using a 4an line for the oil feed.

Oh yea, like someone said earlier, the 93ish and older 2.2 oil pumps flow a little bit more volume than the 95-02 motors. Melling makes a high volume pump for the 93ish and older 2.2s that flows 25% more volume. The pump will bolt up to the 95-02 motors, but make sure that the big end of the connecting rod is able to clear the pump when turning the motor over by hand.

great info on that pump adler
Adler, you know the part# for the Melling timing set? I had the list on my old computer, but lost it with the hard drive

Melling Timing set is 3-370SA.
