hey im buying the gm s/c kit in about three weeks due to some cahs issues and on the gm site it says this under what it fits:
12498287 2.4L Twin Cam Supercharger
Application:
2000 - 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier 2.4 L (RPO - LD9) with Manual Transaxle (RPO- M86)
2000 - 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier 2.4L (RPO - LD9) with Manual Transaxle (RPO - M94)
2000 - 2002 Pontiac Sunfire 2.4 L (RPO - LD9) with Manual Transaxle (RPO- M86)
2000 - 2002 Pontiac Sunfire 2.4L (RPO - LD9) with Manual Transaxle (RPO - M94)
so will it fit my 2000 sunfiregt 4spd auto also? just alittle confused.
Also my aem alt pulley is in the mail and wil i be able to find a belt to fit the s/c with the aem alt pulley also? thanks
Shifted wrote:It will fit, don't put the pulley on. The only difference between the kits is the programming, and the pulley will cause your s/c to spin slower.
The AEM alternator pulley will not cause the s/c to spin slower. Only the crank pulley will.
You should have enough slack with the s/c belt to allow the aem alternator pulley to be put on.

what is the difference btween RPO 86 and RPO 94?
i think 1 is the J-body , and the other the N-body
from looking at the room for the alt pulley , a larger pulley isnt a very good option , the blet is really tight around it
I'm pretty certain that M86 and M94 are axle ratio RPO codes..
I don't remember off the top of my head which is which... there's 3.91, 3.94, 3.63 (which I think is the 2.2L)... I have it written down at home.

your car is auto. the gm charger is for manual only. however the charger i believe does fit, you just wont have a reflash to go with your car. there may be some other issues as well but im not sure.

Welcome to last year...? Or two years ago...?
That manual only part number won't even work anymore... it's been replaced by # 12498660 which is not only Cavalier, Sunfire, Grand Am AND Alero... but also 5 speed AND automatic.
And Pace Parts has it for $2195.95 plus shipping (which for me, was $36.95)...

I think what he has listed is a typo...the M94 is probably an automatic (if I were at work I could check for sure).
M86 is the Getrag.
No, M94 and M86 are both Getrag codes... MN4 is the 4 speed auto. I don't think I've ever seen a 3 speed auto on a 2.4L, but if there were it would be MD9.
I don't know what the difference is between M86 and M94, but I know for certain they're both Getrag 5 speeds.

Lenko is right on all acounts....... IDK about the gear ratio vs. the rpo codes...... might just be they gave them both. (will have to look at my build sheet, but I thought it had both on there)
Lenko, how only $36.95 for shipping that heavy arse box?

so which one should i order for my 2.4 4spd auto?
2000 - 2002 Pontiac Sunfire 2.4 L (RPO - LD9) with Manual Transaxle (RPO- M86)
OR
2000 - 2002 Pontiac Sunfire 2.4L (RPO - LD9) with Manual Transaxle (RPO - M94)
There's only one kit. It's the same for all cars.
I dunno why the shipping was so cheap... maybe the guy heard of "Lenko" or something...?
