Hi all. I've been searching for quite some time now to find out whether the GM charger will fit in my 97 2.4L. Finally, after days of research, I came across this site. Despite all the amazing info I've already read about here, I still dont know about the GM sc fitting in my 97 z24. can someone fill me in please? Thanks,

i don't believe the GM SC will work with pre-00 ld9's

i'd go with the RSM kit.

The S/C kit will work just fine with the pre-00 2.4's. You just can't use the injectors, reflash, map sensor, and you have to use the 2k+ starter.

On your 97, You'll need a 99 PCM or have your PCM reflashed to a 99 to avoid the DTC for EGR which you need to eliminate. Also you'll need the EGR block-off plates and all that stuff. Then you'll need some light fuel delivery upgrades, and a way to control them. Hanzenrider's page is AWESOME for info on the pre-2k swaps, and like Ron said, you'll need the 99+ starter.

And Ron... correction...99s have the smaller starter. Score.
