My friend just bought a turbo zx and got a spare engine with a turbo on it with it. to make a long story short the turbo on it's mine. i'm not sure if i could peice something together with it or what, but i see it as worth a try. also, anyone think the zx engine would fit in a 2000 cavy?
you will need a turbo manifold designed for your cav...
If it has intercooler, you will need custom pipes to mount it....
New downpipe designed for your car.....
I am not shure for the oil lines....
But I think you can keep the turbo, wastegate, Blow Off Valve, filter (lol of course) and many other things
I need a new sig =(
what year 300zx is it? I have a 86 300zx Turbo on my ecotec..if the turbo is good or needs a rebuild you can pretty much use it..they put T3s in the 86-89's and i think T25's in the earlier ones 84+ around there...90+ were all twin turbos or 91+ not sure.
the engines from an 87 zx.
yeah ok then its same turbo im using..nice size T3..turbine a/r of .63 and i think a .50 trim compressor wheel..a little small compressor housing tho =/ but its not bad.
I whant turbo so bad =(
I need a new sig =(
yah in 1985 they used a .60 hot/cold t3 nissan turbo, that is what I used, in 1986+ they went to a little smaller turbo, should work fine, the larger one worked really well, but they don't like above 14-15 psi, just a thought
HP Tuners | Garrett T3/T04B | 2.5" Charge Pipes | 2.5" Downpipe | 650 Injectors | HO Manifold | Addco front/rear | Motor Mounts | HKS SSQV | Spec stage 3 | AEM UEGO Wideband | Team Green LSD | FMIC | 2.3 cams | 2.3 oil pump swap | 280WHP | Now ECOTECED
For a turbo first make sure the turbo is good does it have shaft play? do the fins touch? put oil in it and see if the seals leak?
you'll need a custom manifold
intercooler is'nt needed but a good idea try www.johnyracecar.com think thats right
bov
oil line kit go to www.stealthmodeperformance.com
bigger injectors
bigger fuel pump
I don't know what the jboys use to controll the fuel and stuff but on honda we usually run uberdata, try an apexi vfc and a vaccum regulated fpr
downpipe, the the t3 off of z's have a pretty easy flange to work with
finally check out www.homemadeturbo.com

what types of gains do you see from one of those turbo's? any piping kit suggestions? i don't want to have alot of couplers and what not on there, as straight as possible would be the best to stray from possible leakage. i'm pickin up the turbo in a few hours, seeing as it's 3 am, and man is the tension building. i'm just planning on taking off everything attached to it just in case.
i dont know what type of gains they put out since i never dynoed my car and not intercooled yet of even done with the project...so untill then all i can say is o there straight 6 they put about 40 hp with the turbo at 5-6 PSI...160 N/A 3.0 liter....200 turbo 3.0 liter...but you can compare that with our engines since those are bigger displacments. just a rough estimate =(
