I am throwing the engine away next week when I put my new one in. But thanks for that, idiot. As you can see it is blown and I can't be bothered to fix it.

you wanna keep in mind that your risking @!#$ breaking off and entering your turbo by doing that. although it sounded real nice
parting out my built and boosted 97 z24 so4x4.com/cavy.html for pics and a parts list
Lol i remember when i blew up my old 95 Grand Prix on nitrous, except i had 2 cylinders out... i got it to start, the car started shaking real violently, then when i hit the gas it stalled out, and never turned over again
Needless to say that 100 shot was a hell of a kick in your butt.

Why would you keep reving it with that severe of a knock, yeah i understand that your engine was toast and you didnt care but like judgez24 said your risking #$%# breaking off and entering your turbo.
I dont think he cares lol... Plus think about it, when he revs it the piston that WAS attached to that connecting rod is no longer moving, so the cylinder that is blown is completely sealed off from everything... the top end is still together so the valves are working properly, but that piston isnt moving... so HOW exactly are parts going to enter the manifold and damage his turbo??
Not trying to sound like a know it all but i just dont see that happening.
<img src="http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/3/web/831000-831999/831395_11_full.jpg">
well all that has to happen is the bottom of the broken con rod thats attached to the piston needs hit hte crank, and then it gets airborn and each the valve. i know first hand what a broken valve will do. it chewed up the inside of my head and then broken my exhaust in 3 places. entering something as precise and delicate as a turbo would destroy it.
im sure he doesnt care, but not all of use want to spend a grand to replace our motor and another 500 on a turbo that could have stayed together.
but whatever man, its your car, people are trying to save you money

heard that before...
although i didnt rev the @!#$ out of mine...
it was only a spun bearing.

yeah, see i,m no Mechicanic or anything. But i would have to agree with Adler. The sound you are hearing is just the sound of the engine getting use to the turbo. Its just like you have to get use to the sound of the turbo Spooling and the BOV.
Overall your car sounds fine and i would bet money you would be ok turning up the boost alittle....then let us know how that goes
that thing sounds like you can get another 100k out of it. i want to put that motor in my car. how much for it?
