ok, sometimes when i blip the gas pedal to about 2-3k rpms, it drops to about 300 or so rpms, like its about to die, then catches itself. is this a common problem on 00-02 s/c z's? could it be a minor vac leak or something? or did the dealer not do the reflash right? or something else? thanks guys

mine does exactly the same thing....
has since the day it was installed. not too worried about it
also if you watch an a/f gauge it goes way lean when this happens, then jumps back. my car has also stalled from this a time or two, (coming out of reverse quickly) i just figure they have it go lean quick like that for emmisions purposes. lemme know if you find out differently....Patrick
Check your electrical connections at the MAP sensor.

sounds like a vacumm leak, hook up a vacumm gauge on the line going to the map sensor, it should read between -18 and -20 (with a stock engine) if it is around -5 to -15 you likely have a cracked line or loose connection

i have a vac/ boost gauge and always have~20 at idle so i dont think that is the case. i will check the connections at the MAP sensor. this only happens when you give gas quickly (hitting boost) and shraply let it back to idle so it dosent really interfere with daily driving. anybody else with the gm charger and an air/ fuel guage give it a quick rev in neutral and let it quickly return to idle and see if it dosent hesitate and go lean...

mine does it 100% stock lol

well then maybe the s/c just magnifies a problem (having the draw of the pulley when the engine slows to an idle)???
yup mine does that too, its a pain sometimes, every once in awhile if say i pull into a dunkin donuts drivethru and i have to cut the wheel all teh way every once in awhile it stalls, but i also have a lightened flywheel and crank pulley, so im sure those dont help at all. but when i had the charger on with stock clutch and whatnot it still did it once in awhile.

Your car is working normally. Myself and others with the s/c have concluded that it's a screw up in GM's reflash. The IAC valve doesn't react fast enough to catch the idle. Therefore, it comes really close to stalling or actually does so.
My lightened flywheel actually helped the situation. It stopped bogging down more often. This really isn't a problem for me since my e-manage will catch the stall and prevent it as well. However, there isn't anything that can completely remedy the problem without going to a complete stand alone engine management system.

I had that problem on my completely stock N/A engine.... every sensor in the car was changed and it didn't improve.
But - I threw in my MSD box and boom. No more "almost stalling" on the car anymore - she holds firm when the revs come down.

that can't be true.... i never reflashed my car... and it does the same thing
Junior
mine does it too but only because i have larger injectors 35lbs@38psi, im hoping the safc II will help me with this when i finish hooking up the last wire lol
but when i was running stock 2.4 injectors 24# with the s/c and a afmu i never once had this problem on my 98 Z24
Mines is pronounced with the A.C. on.
(I think) its more of the extra draw of the S/C, which is why it happens to me more often with a.c. on again extra draw.

i think i sorta have that problem, but not sure. I have a lightened flywheel so that might be a issue.
I turned up my idle a little ( via the screw on the t/b) and it seemed to help.you guys should try that.
Same problem here. Every now and again, it just dies. I haven't worried about it too much cause it seems most folks with the kit have this problem.

i personaly havent had this problem... granted i have only had the kit on for about 3 and a half weeks... only thing i had was my check engine light would stay on and flash for the first few days but it hasnt come on since and i didnt change any thing.
mine used to do this but then i put the secret cams in and it almost eIliminated the problem.
well, i have the bigger injectors... lightenened flywheel... and no reflash of the ecu.... and mine does it... so it could be any one of those things... but i agree.. i think it's the added draw on the accessories from the supercharger.... no big deal

Mine stalled as I was leaving the garage bay after getting the reflash.
Hasn't done so since though. Heck, it hasn't even come close since. I figured it just needed a bit of learnin' time with the new setup.
This is a software glitch in the 2.4L and some Eco calibrations. Most Ecos have new programing to correct this problem.
As I said... it hasn't happened since that first time, right after the programming.
Can you guys post your config and what VCI you're running? Maybe we can compare to see if they've changed the program at all.
I'll have to check my VCI later tonight. The dealer should have written it on that smog sticker that comes with the kit.
I believe it's dependant on car/tranny combinations. IE, there should be 4 different ones. N-Body auto, J-body manual, etc.
SMog sticker??? i must have lost mine when i was doin the install i dont recall ever seeing it, what does it look like, have any idea what the part# is, i might have to order it so i dont get my rocks busted when i go for insepction

It's a white sticker that says you've got the GM supercharger installed, the date, the VCI number, and the CARB emissions code number.
No idea what the part number is off hand, but if you need it I can get it. I'm just not sure which is the correct one for the car. Mine came with two, for the J and N car and they were the same except for the CARB exemption number.
ya i definetly dont have that sticker, hmmm this kind of worries me ,
