Ok, Now to clarify. HAAS, if you ever read this, feel free to make up lies to try and save your name, but I have emails to back up 100% of what I'm about to say. All references to (Dave) are in reference to Dave that works for haas, NOT DAVE the creator of this site. I'm just going to vent now, so if you dont want to read about my troubles with HAAS, click back over to your porno because it's probably more exciting.
I have made posts on here before but never putting down a company, why did I wait so long to bring all of this out in the open is probably going to be the question on most minds.
Answer: I will do whatever I can to help the j-body market and with a new company like HAAS I wanted to help them get off the ground as there was not a single car on the .org with their kit. I thought I would keep these issues to myself and save HAAS some negative feedback, but then HAAS decided to back out of a refund that was promised to me on the 2nd day of my install by Dave. Then, promised again 4 more times in emails (I have all these emails saved) after 2 months of waiting for this I started to realize this company was shady. Here are the last 4 or so emails I exchanged with haas trying to obtain my refund.
------------------------------------------
Hi,
My name is James Klingbeil and I have been working with Dave on
installing my turbo kit. When I first got my kit I received the wrong
manifold, and I was told I would get a $100 refund for the
inconvenience. After talking with Dave he said I would get the refund
when my kit was on the car. My kit is now on my car and I was told to
send an email to the customer service email address to get the $100
refund. If there is anything else you need from me please let me know.
Thank you.
------------------------------------------
I got no response, so after 4 days I sent yet another...
------------------------------------------
I have not heard back about this? What happened to the Haas customer
support. It's horrible now? If your company is going to compete in
this market you NEED to maintain the excellent support that you once
had. Lately, and in multiple ocassions it's taken over 4 days to get
responses from you guys. When I purchased this kit I was told there
would be 24 hour support. I hope you guys can pull it together soon.
------------------------------------------
Finally a response!
------------------------------------------
James:
I thought you were joking?! We provided the service by immediately
shipping you the correct manifold and refunding you a little extra to
ship the wrong manifold back to us. I'm unaware of what Dave had told
you, he's the tech who makes the plans and modifications for kits,
not the one who handles the finances, billing, shipping, etc. I'm
sorry but I'm afraid what he told you is incorrect as far as getting a
refund. If for some reason we were not able to get you the correct part, then
perhaps a refund would be issued, but since we issued you the correct
part in return, we do not feel that we are responsible for giving a customer a refund.
Sorry for the confusion and the delay in getting back to you.

WOW. I couldn't believe my eyes... So here is My response to that spineless bastard who couldn't even sign his name at the end of the email.
------------------------------------------
Are you kidding me? I have multiple emails from dave and phone
conversations regarding the refund. I was told in multiple emails to
send the manifold back and I will receive the 100 refund for my
troubles and rental car. Instead all I got is lies.... This was no
misunderstanding, I still have all the emails and there are multiple
emails addressing the refund and when I will get it. I have been so
patient with your company and this is the kind of games you are going
to play? I am a well respected member on a few cavalier and sunfire
forums. Why would you want to treat me like that. Does Dave work for
you? Yes. Did he tell me that I would get a refund? Yes. Do I have it
in writing? Yes! There is no reason to make this harder then it has to
be. I have been repeatedly told I will get this refund and that HAAS
wanted to wait until my kit was installed before they issued the
refund incase any more issues arise that were HAAS's fault. THIS IS
ALL DOCUMENTED IN EMAILS. I tried calling your service line but all I
get is an answering machine. my # is ###########.

------------------------------------------
Of course, I have not received a call or email back and probably never will.
To clarify, I was sent the wrong manifold and this caused my install to be delayed forcing me to get a rental car. Dave was apologetic and said he would kick $100 back for my troubles. Up to this point Dave had been super helpful and I had no reason to doubt him.
As you can see if you look through the pictures @
http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/twstedsystm/my_photos You will notice a picture of 2 manifolds. One is over an inch shorter then the other.
This part of my story is great. When I was trying to install the manifold I test fitted the turbo with it and it wouldn’t fit, it was hitting the back of the firewall. I sent pictures via email to Dave showing him it will not fit. He says there was a mix up and the shipped the wrong one. 2 days later I get a manifold. This new manifold...It's special and to my surprise NOT from HAAS and not ceramic coated like I was told. It comes in a box with the return label looking like this:
EXPLOITED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT? is this a joke? On the bright side.. it only took 2 days. whatever..
I just wanted to get this @!#$ on the car and didn’t have the time to screw around with HAAS or EXPLOITED waiting for this new manifold to get coated. so on with the install!
-Only to run into more problems!!! I bought my Exhaust from HAAS, it was suppose to bolt right up to the down pipe. It wasn’t even close, I had to have a shop cut and weld the exhaust just so it would fit. Money out of my own pocket.
-My intercooler piping will not fit on the passenger side. I had to cut and fabricate my own piping. Not to my surprise.. Brian Irwin and Troy Guthrie, Also members of the .org have bought the HAAS kit and their IC piping didn’t fit either. Strange... They both were sent the wrong manifold too! Wow! But the fun didn’t stop there... Oh No!
-The MSM that HAAS includes in their kit is suppose to eliminate the check engine light that will come on once boosted. To install this part, I was sent the wrong directions! telling me to cut wires that didn’t need to be cut! Wait i think i have this email on hand. ahh yes here it is.
The email with the instruction....
---
Wirring harness:
**Gray wire in the factory harness is the 5v source> connect to the MSM red wire (splice into, do not cut gray wire)
**Green wire in factory harness is the PCM signal wire CUT THIS WIRE> connect to factory green side that goes to factory wiring harness (towards the PCM) to the Green wire of the MSM.
**Green wire in factory harness towards the MAP sensor> connect to blue wire of MSM.
**Pink wire in factory harness (do not cut)> connect to black wire fo MSM.
----
Hey they even sent me a diagram with the wrong directions. How thoughtful.
These instructions caused my car to go into limp mode and the car started freaking out. Eventually stalling out. What a mess. But finally, after talking with Dave, we were able to figure it out by trying some other wiring ideas. Not even close to the directions originally sent. Did they even test this device? Oh yeah one more thing. The check engine light... it still came on, so what is this device doing on my car? Anything? hell who knows?
-Oil pressure was too high, I made other posts on the .org about this, search for it. I'm trying to end this bloody post.
-And finally, the last issue I had was the EIC. I didn’t even know there was a problem until I got the car on the dyno. The EIC controls the 2 extra injectors. It needs a tach source and vacuum source. When the car gets to about 4300 RPMS. The EIC immediately goes to 100%. which means it is dumping fuel like a fat kid with the poops. I got extremely RICH because of all this fuel. I still don’t have a fix for this problem yet. When I emailed the manufacturer about the EIC problem they had this to say about HAAS.
--------------------------------
Hi,
The EIC has no adjustability with RPM, so there is not much you can do other than find the best compromise.
If this is not good enough you may have to buy a different brand of Injector controller. Also I guess you could check with Haas and see what settings they use. I wonder how much testing they did... You have done more than Haas.
Sorry for the slow reply.
----------------------------------
Can you believe it!!!!! this was suppose to be tested? If you look on HAAS's website they do not even have a dyno sheet posted with this EIC setup. They have a dyno sheet posted but it's not with the EIC. Again… did they test this stuff? Or was I the one testing it for them?
If you read this much, I'm sorry, but now you know most of my headaches with this company.
IF you like headaches and like being lied to… By all means, order from HAAS you will be in for a trip. Maybe after reading all this, someone will take the warning and save themselves the trouble.
I WILL NEVER BUY FROM HAAS AGAIN!
Dave, if your reading this, thanks for lying to me. I'm glad you had fun playing games at my expense.
