The turbo mani I have is log style with no external wastegate flange. There is no room to add an adapter between the turbo and the mani unless I can find a 45 or 90 degree angle one. I have a 5 bolt flange with 2 holes in it (one for downpipe and the other would be where an internal gate flapper would be) Any idea what type of power could be pushed before creep would be seen if the internal hole was used with an external gate. Similar to this pic: The hole on the turbine side of the turbo measures 3/4". That seems pretty small to support any real power in my opinion, but then again it is a direct exit from directly in front of the turbine... Thoughts?

Hmmm... somewhere. Its the standard old log style stainless manifold. The t3 flange is pretty much parallel to the head exhaust flange, so really just enough room for the turbo to squeeze in between there and the firewall.

its very similar to this one, with the exception that the T3 flange is not centered on mine but in between cyl 2 and 3.


I suppose I could always have a wastegate flange welded in there, but would prefer not to pull it back off the head if theres another way or if the hole in the hot side of the turbo could flow enough.

Best way is to pull off the manifold and have a wastegate flange puton.

Youd prolly have to make your own fp flange for the wg, since most adapters like that are dsm style..atleast Ive never seen one in a standard 5-bolt style. IMO would be much easier to weld a a wg flange to the manifold and you wouldnt have to worry about wg performing issues
