Question/Favor to ask of you with some very good news when it comes to cracking the GM S/C Flash "lock".

I'm running it for the time being that will change soon unless you have some really good news lol
There is a thread in the tuning forum, where they are using the harness and computer out of an 00-02 ld9 charger reflash with good results. I've only browsed through it but might be worth looking into.
Yea I was thinking about that but I think for now I'm just gonna get a new ecu and fake the 2.5bar. Unless the op spills the beans and has some amazing new breakthrough that's even easier than the ld9/2200 harness swap
ran the reflash with my m62 and i'm currently using it with my saab turbo setup, no issues

just a heads up if your using hp tuners, with the fake 2 bar your going to have to double up your shift pressure on the comp, Something you'll have to pay with.
Cool thanks for the tip I have an autotrans interceptor think that would negate the issue? I have considered taking it off when I tune and tuning the trans with hpt. Im sure I will be needing lots of advice in the coming weeks with hpt.
naw that wont do anything, its cuz the fake 2 bar is dividing the pressure just about in half. Took a few mins for him to remember it, but got it figured out...still having problems with a shift at certain times tho.
Been using the flash with my auto for a year and a half no isssues. ????????????????????????
i dont think any one has had a problem with the gm flash......just could be alot beter.

I cant speek for the auto guys, but a few of us 5-speed guys have problems with the crapflash breaking up/backfiring and having the car lose all performance(it cant even get out of it's own way).
its an old concept. time for something new to take the reigns. - Z yaaaa
The only issue I ran into with the reflash on my car was a random high idle that would come and go as it wanted....like 1400rpm's then drop to 900, it was odd. But that was it, once I gapped my plugs to .032 all was well.

cool thanks for the info.
Also yea it isn't that the reflash doesn't work its just not as good as it should or could be.
Jim, what is this all about. why have you not responded to this yet?
This reminds me of portal and the news he has is the cake
Hey guys! Sorry, just started a new job and have been super busy! To answer your questions....
I'm currently working with Vince @ Trifecta Performance. He is pretty gifted I'll tell ya. Aaron (blueboost aka itsjustacavalier) just had his car tuned by him and is now running 18-21psi. Here's the real kicker, this was all done with a base map from the GM Flash (cracked) for 5-speed L61s. Yeah, no sh*t. Don't believe me? Ask Aaron himself. Car will be seeing the dyno on 110oct sometime soon no doubt. Now I'm looking for someone with an AUTO L61 running GM's S/C Flash to donate their VIN# to me to give to Vince, so then he can get that tune file direct from GM. Don't ask me how he does it, because I couldn't tell you. Vince now has a cracked and editable copy of the S/C flash for 5-speed L61s thanks to Aaron, I'm just in dire need of someone to help me get Vince a VIN# from a car CURRENTLY with GM's S/C Flash. I know this has been a long time coming, so someone HELP get this sh*t done! Please PM me with your VIN# if you can help me and I'll email it to Vince.
Now, let the wildfire burn....

Yea, we knew about this months ago. It was also posted that Vince found out that it is just a crappy fake 2.5bar. I'll stick with the classic HPT faked 2.5bar or the LD9/LN2 Speed Density swap.

Well, apparently I'm not the only one who didn't get that memo Tinkles because my inbox was bombarded with VIN#s and inquiries lol. Update, Vince got the files from GM for the Auto L61. Thanks Yellow Cavy!!!
Should have a modified and not-so-crappy 2.5bar tune by the end of today.

Update, I have the new tune file from Vince. Now just waiting to hear back from Aaron to see when I can borrow his EZ Flash cable to flash my car. I'm excited to see how my car turns out seeing as Aaron's is definitely capable of 10-second passes on 21psi because of Vince's precise tuning (Not an exaggeration, the car is like a jet on four wheels...).

Is it a Speed Density tune or is it still Alpha-N?

Not sure.

Sorry for the noob question. Why do you need to fake the 2.5 bar MAP. I am running a 2 bar and I understand GM has a 3 bar. Would a 2 bar be big enough for 15 psi?
Labrat
Yes, but search the "Tuning" forum for a detailed answer.

Because our stock OSs are Alpha-N and use TPS and RPM for fueling. The MAP sensor is not used for fuel like in a true 2 bar MAP tune so it has to be faked.
The 2 bar sensor is +/- 14.7 psi.
