Gm reflashed computer id

I'm looking for a gm reflashed computer for my Eco. But I'm curious when I do get one how do I tell if it is genuine and someone didn't just sell me a stock computer?

Is there anyway to know?

Will it run normal on startup with cobalt injectors with the reflash and not with a stock computer? Or do I install it and monitor my wideband and hope for the best?

I'll be running the cobalt as Tmap as well if it matters.

Any help in this matter would be appreciated... And if you have a reflashed computer you wanna get rid of pm me.

Tha ks

theres no way to tell unless you look at the programming. why do you want to buy a flashed computer when you can just reflash yours?

another problem you may have is the computer is coded to each specific vehicle and swapping another ecm to another car may cause problems as each ecm has the vin programmed into it.

save yourself the trouble and just have your computer reflashed.

I think gm charged me 75 bucks to reflash my car...mind you I have a LD9 so it may be a slight difference in cost but thats all I paid. I drove it to the shop without a relash just couldn't go into boost (if the car did it stalled). They flashed it and then I ran the car hard all day. Best 75 I ever spent.

plug it in and check the calibration code w/ a tech 2. Did you get a bcm with it too? cause you will need one or have to have it synced to your pcm @ the dealer.

Im using this on a Saab setup so I dont have the option of going to the dealer and just getting my reflash before hand.

Not true, I purchased my gmpp kit used and once everything was ready to go I just did the relearn and it fired up. The person who had the kit before had an 03 and mine was an 04.

Do you really need to be that paranoid? There surely can't be that high a number of people selling bogus reflashed computers on the org. If any.

Who's paranoid? I think it's a viable question when it pertains to my engines health. This car is my daily so if I can avoid any issues I will. And realistically I don't know anyone on here, and have been screwed over before so I ask. Thanks for your constructive response though

I don't know what you mean by syncing though or having to go to the dealer. I swapped a newer eco in my car and wanted the 03 fuel rail so I am using the 03 computer with no issues. Just did a relearn and started like new.

So please explain if you can.
