Up or under?

Im looking at redoing my charge pipes on my Z24 at a local shop that does an awesome job in custom charge pipes. I will have them tune it aswell so I thought why not upgrade the charge pipes for a cleaner look once tax refund hits.

What my question is whats a better method...having the charge pipes come up and run along the side of the engine next to the timing chain housing? I've seen almost all J owners on here run them like so. Just wondering if theres a benefit.

Or should I just leave it how it sits with the piping routing from underneath the car?

I wouldn't see one being better than the other imo just personal preference really.

Whichever one is the shortest and has the least amount of bends.

Hahn goes under the car, and claims it provides the shortest amount of piping. I personally like the looks of piping when done right and want to see it in the engine bay.

You took the words right out of my mouth. Thats the only reason I want to run it up towards the engine bay.
