ok so i have an 03 cavalier and running the hahn stage 2 kit...im looking at replacing the plugs in the car since its been almost 86k on the clock and i dont think they have been changed so i want to...
ive been looking at the NGK LTR6IX-11 and the LTR7IX-11 as the replacement...
has anyone tried these plugs out and if so how did they work out for u...
im also looking at some other suggestions to plugs as i im not too sure as to what a good step or 2 colder plug would really help with

Im not sure the exact PN or stock number, but we ran the NGK SRT-4 plugs in our Sunfire.

SRT-4 plugs are alittle longer than the stock plugs and can cause problems. The NGK LTR6IX-11 and the LTR7IX-11 are the same exact length as the stock ACDelcos and are 1 & 2 steps colder respectively. The are also the most recommended plugs to "upgrade too".
I am running a set of NGK LTR6IX-11 plugs in my S/C cav right now. No problems.

We havent had any problems and we even destroked the engine to make it 2.0 L displacement. What problems have you run into with them?

That's a very good thread Tinkles and if Skunk attributes his head/head gasket problem to the plug then I'll be a monkey's uncle. I just find it hard to believe that we had been running SRT4 plugs for about 4 years of 500 HP+ and never ran into this problem.
The only thing I can attribute it to is the fact that our Sunfire saw much less street time than Skunk's cav Im sure and an engine obviously has more stress/heat put through it on the street than on the track and discipating heat may be a much more crucial factor. If this is in fact the case, then I would have to say the SRT4 plugs are more suited to drag strip oriented vehicles over street vehicles that drive to and from the track.
In all honesty, I don't think we were running an EGT on the DFI, (been awhile I cant remember). I do know that we never had problems with detonation and/or knock. I'd be interested to hear more about Skunks' and PJ's findings though.

One more thing I just thought of. We had a set of warm up plugs and then a set of race plugs. We probably changed out the race plugs 3-4 times a season. Maybe this has something to do with it?

I'd image. A race engine and a street engine are different animals.

~.35 i think. I know it is no higher than .35
ok so basically i should just go ahead and get the LTR7IX-11's for my replacements? or should i go with the 6's??

i posted a thread with the part numbers on all the ngk spark plugs that would work for a cav i believe its in the performance section. I believe its a general rule of thumb u want to go one step colder for every 100hp, i dont know how much hp the hahn stage 2 kit makes but i would say u would be fine with tr-6s or 7s, they are cheap enough (like $2.50 a plug) to buy both sets and see which ones you have better performance with
if it can't win a race it better win a show

NGK LTR6IX-11 and the LTR7IX-11 are the correct plugs for an eco j-body.
