I have everything I need to finally turbo the cavy. Info on all that was posted previously.
My only set back right now is running the IC piping. The FMIC im going to run is a 28x7x2.5, not huge, but big enough for the 50 trim Im going to run at 10psi for now.
I would prefer to not run the hot side under the car, I would like to have it ran along the timing chain cover on the passanger side. I cant run it between the motor and radiator because Im not giving up the A/C, too hot in AZ and I need to keep my son cool.
Ive seen a couple LD9 cars with the piping going through where the radiator coolant tank is but they had custom tanks made. I seen an eco with the stock tank and the piping going closer to the radiator infront of the tank. Unfortunately, I could get a close up of where it is ran, and also I know the ECO ECMs are in a different spot than the LD9s which seem like they would be in the way.
I will be running the HO/LO manifold with the battery relocated to the trunk to run the piping right up through there so the cold side piping will be no problem.
I have yet to yank the passanger side fender off to check for sure, just wanted to get some peoples input first.
Pictures if anyone has any would be much appreciated. I searched the picture section and have done several google searches and cant find any good pictures.
Thanks in advance for the help,
Thome

Thats where I originally wanted to run the piping but the A/C compressor is in the way. I assume you no longer have A/C on the car unless the Alero has more room between the motor and core support.
Thanks!

It's tight, real tight around the A/C compressor. I used to have some close ups of that area, trying to find them.

Close ups would definaely be nice.
Below are a copule pics of Jcavi's ECO using the stock coolant tank with the hot side piping going through the fender well.

Ive always wondered why Ive seen atleast maybe 4-5 eco's with the hot side going down into the fenderwell, but maybe 1 ld9 which if there is I dont remember it. Just like most ld9s I see have the compressor housing facing the drivers side and ecos the opposite.
I have my hot side running along the timing housing which 95's down past where my ac was. Then under the pcm and 180's into my intercooler. I had a delete pulley and with how its setup now it barely cleared the pulley so I just went with a shorter belt.
i could make whatever u want happen and im local
just a thought.

i make neons go fast.........
...and you need turbo clamps.... not worm clamps.... i like the way you cut the impact bar for the FMIC... looks clean
...I am the BEST at what I do...

I already have some prebent aluminum tubing that im going to cut and have welded together, worked well on my talon, should be fine for the cavy.
I may eventually do a 1 or 2 piece pipe so there are no welds.
pm me your hourly for tig welding or what you would charge me to weld my piping.
I have a guy in glendale that has done all my aluminum welding but your closer to me being in surprise since im in buckeye.
shoot me your addy and ill stop by and check out your shop one day.

I too am having the same issue on my L61 in my Cavi. Just looking for the right way to route the hot side. All I need is a close up of the passenger side, not the driver's, to show where the pipe goes after it passes the coolant res. Maybe some good angles? lol jk but all these ya'll are showing are angles I've seen before and still don't help.
Thanks in advance to those that can shed a brighter light on this.

Check out vincent morris' setup. It works and its clean looking.
hmm, i dont really like the look of the hot side going along the timing housing and then down in to the fender. I would much rather have it hidden under everything so no one knows what is going on, but thats juet me...

x2.
I hate being auto, plus it just clutters the bay and leaves less room for things. Im just gona eventualy flip my turbo so the compressor outlet faces the passenger side of the car which will make the hot side shorter, then turn it out so it goes infront of the coolnt res into the fender.

Thats kind of how Mike had his ran. Doesnt look too bad, just too much piping for me. LOL I would prefer to have it as short as possible.
Im really starting to consider running it under the car to keep it a little more hidden. Not like you can hide the turbo sticking out in your face at the firewall though.

Wheres my turbo
We arent all blessed to have a tubular turbo manifold though.
In your case running them under the car helps keep your turbo a secret.

if you look at both mine and erics old kits they were pretty much ran the same was as the old j-tuners kits from back in the day
i like the look of the hot side under the car, makes the engine look a lot cleaner
Eat my shift
under is definately the way to go, if you can...

How do those you run the hot side on top run it down to the bottom of the intercooler? I'm still having trouble finding out exactly how to do that... Maybe anyone have pics without the front bumper on showing how the pipe bends run off the hot side of the intercooler???

Mine is basically a 180* bend off the intercooler going under the pcm. I cut a part of the plasctic cover out to fit the pipe through, then it runs up along where my a/c used to be.

Like this... but mine is under but i imagine after the 180* it turns up instead of back like mine

Yep. But actualy mine is a 90* off the intercooler, then its one pipe that 90's under the pcm and 90's up to the top hot pipe. They form a 180* bend togther though going under the pcm. I eventualy will angle it over and down in front of the coolant res inter the fender so it wont run down past the a/c area.

actually mine was the proto-type cav CONartists kit , which was sold to j-tuners
