Why would you need to?

Cut it off, and drill a new and larger hole?

lol i never said i needed too, just curious.. as i would like to enlarge it as a safety precaution and add a catch can

some cobalt guys are just tapping there oil caps with bulk fittings and venting that way, but i'd rather enlarge the vent in the valve cover

The hose that goes to the valve cover is the fresh air inlet for the pcv system. Under certain circumstances blowby gasses will escape from this vent.

GM suggests to enlarge it when at high boost levels.. and that is what i want to do

Cut off the old nipple, enlarge the hole and have a new fitting welded on.

Define "High boost".

The GM cars run around 45 psi, right.
I doubt anyone on this site is at or near this level.

your right, but it never says how high of boost in the build book either..

its just a safety precaution, i'd rather do it now than later..
and i only asked here becuase i've known some people to do it, and have yet to see anyone do it on css.net or rlforums.com

does it really matter to you either way?
