how is the drvability of the gm sc

A supercharger is a get in and drive kind of thing. There are typically no hassles or worries, aside from increased gas consumption. Go take out a Cobalt SS S/C for a test drive sometime.

Staying out of boost, there's not that much of a gas mileage difference.

My gas mileage got much better when i started running methanol/water, was able to pull fuel PSI way back, its about 27city and 32+ highway now and thats driving aggressive

how did you make the delivery of the water/meth coincide properly with engine load and/or TP and RPM ?

your only spraying meth/water at WOT, which would basically defeat the good gas mileage because as soon as you hear the whine, say bye to your gas. I know this because i've ran the charger on my motor for the past 3 years and i know what makes good and what makes bad gas mileage. I honestly don't know what my mpg is but its somewhere around low 20's city. Like said before, as long as you stay out of boost which is very easy, your good.

-Boosted-

You are absolutely INCORRECT! There are many water/methanol systems out there and many of the better systems are NOT WOT only. In fact not only are there adjustable "ON" time windows for injection but also linear injection rates vs RPM/TPS/MAP/BOOST/MAF. I have GREATLY increased my MPG since running methanol/water under daily driving that consists of everyday "ON RAMP PULLS", "JUST PUNCH IT BECAUSE I WANT TO", "AND THE OCCASIONAL OPPONENT WHO WANTS TO PLAY TOO". I am in boost A LOT!!!! My average tank would last me 280+/- miles now I get 330+++ all city! Highway I see 400+ per tank driving like any boosted driver does. Thats running 14 pounds daily at 11.2-12.0:1 A/Fs. I have my injection beginning at 5 lbs and is at full pulse rate by 10 lbs and i go through 2 qts of meth every week. That includes one night at the strip which generally yields me 7 runs where meth is pretty much always running. If I don't go to the track 2 qts last a little over a week. I have "on" time @ 5 lbs to avoid injection under normal/heavy load for casual passing and just casual acceleration to try to save on the use of meth. Understand that there are many variables as there are with anything in this business such as; type of meth, mixture of meth/water, quality of water/meth, air temps, vehicle condition, altitude etc. that will dictate individual results. My injection is right before the throttle body then to the SC. I have consulted with several blower professionals and meth professionals and they all have the same theory that they have seen evidence that the water/meth has a lubrication effect on the rotors of the SC and it not only lengthens life in that manner but also lengthens it due to its cooling effect of the SC components IF injected pre supercharger as I have done.

Lesson here is NEVER take one persons "opinion" and consider it fact, research or at least get your info from someone who is reputable in what they speak of. Don't mean to get anyone upset but its bothersome the amount of people on this site who state false info or lack of the entire story as fact.

what are you talking about? I don't care if you think im right or wrong, nobody is going to have meth injection set on vac just to cruise around wasting meth fluid. As far as i know every gm s/c'd car on this site is a street car and is not going to have meth spray as long as the car is running, it doesn't do a damn thing if your not under boost. Maybe im wrong but i'd have to hear it from someone who has done it already with the gm charger whether it be the m45 or m62 because im not going to beleive someone who talks to "blower professionals", to me that just seems silly.

You can run Meth in vacuum... Reason being it allows you to bump up the spark advance w/o worries of detonation giving you the ability to create more power. So it can be used N/A and in Boost. Most do not run in vacuum for the pure fact it requires addtional electronics to base off tps and the price of the unit for that is not cheap.

Also for a N/A application with high compression it can help with tuning because again you can run more advance with less worries of detonation. I think that Paul T. should run meth in his setup to ease tuning.

i like mine, day to day, the worst ive every gotten was 20MPG, the best and normal for interstate was 34-36 (my kits also for sale.)

alk injectoion is great for NA motors with High compression to keep detonation at bay. i use it, works great.

Once again you post without either A) reading the whole story or B) Prove your ignorance in this subject.

Question A) how is the supercharger for daily driving?

Answers; good no problems drives as normal

Does have a MPG disadvantage over stock (obvious)

Suggestions; to combat fuel consumptions a recommendation was made to use water/methanol along with its many other benefits.

Your reply: False information regarding suggestion. Nobody EVER mentioned ANYTHING about the use of water/meth in VAC however can be, and is also, just as useful.

I care what is said regarding information that is false!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Consider me a PROFESSIONAL as I clearly excel in this subject far beyond your comprehension. I merely stated that I have discussed these subjects with professionals other than myself to further back what I know and suggest for others to benefit from. Not only from my personal use of these techniques but also the number in which I have done. You my friend do not know what you are talking about and unfortunately others read your info as fact because you state it in such a fashion. Others also care or else there would be no progress if people were not correctly educated. Running your car forced induction for three years or not doesn't mean you are running it at its full potential.

Back on with the thread at hand..................................................................................................................................

The GM SC kits are great for anyone looking for daily driving performance and beyond. The methanol is as stated a great add on to your system for further performance etc.

i never said that i have ran my car to its full potential, i stated what i thought on the subject because i have the gm charger on my car and it appears that you don't according to your mod list in your profile. I'd rather hear information from somebody like myself who has the charger and has meth injection than some noname on the forum who cares to chime in randomly. By noname this doesnt mean that i am "popular" or however else you'd like to turn this around. Maybe you have a ton done to your motor, maybe you have a intake and exhaust, who knows unless you actually type your mods in your profile because it's not like your hiding things from us, theres only so much you can have before you become a repeat of other member's mod list.

he has a 02 eco with the gm s/c 3.0 pulley , working intercooler , and meth inj , full header back exhaust , soon to have a LSJ header installed , his meth kit is from snow performance

i ran alky on my 2.4 , i never lost any mileage with mine it got about the same even with a heavy foot , mine came on at 1psi , and i didnt need to be WOT for it to come on , and mine was a elcheapo home made kit

the s/c kits about the best bang for streetability and power

again you prove to neglect to read anything because if you had its pretty clear that not only do I run the SC but my friend I have been on the ORG for a very long time and a "nobody" you may think but had you been around for as long as I you would probably know that not only have I a SCd J but multiple BOOSTED J-bodies. I don't need a ridiculous list of mods on my page to flaunt what I have for my clearly presented knowledge of the subject speaks for itself. Anybody can have a huge list of "MODS" in their profile but you are living proof that means nothing when it comes to knowledge.

haha alright. So now i know nothing, and have a list of mods to go with it? get over yourself seriously. If i didn't know nothing how did i build my motor with little help of the machine shop and continue to this day to keep it running fine. If your mr hot shot with the superchargers then lets see some impressive times or power put down that's going to impress everybody, you sound to be all mouth honestly. Flame on because quite frankly, we're talking j-bodie superchargers here, not big power at all so don't get your panties bunched up by someone with a automatic sunfire.

got 33.5 MPG this weekend driving 500miles across Kansas with the typical Plains' crosswind. Used to get 39 with all mods except the blower and plugs; (Hence the Boost). My heat exchanger is not hooked up right now, and i never used the A/C. Everytime i got the chance it was WOT to 100 or so: highway merging, toll booths, groceries. The fuel I use is 91 Octane Shell.
