hello again jbo, I currently have the vis cf invader 03-05 hood, and noticed a small spiderweb cracking, right before the vent. It is hitting the plug on top of my throttle body. After my recent accident, I will be needing to purchase a new hood. I am wanting the vis cf evo hood, but am open to suggestions regarding the fitment. Any ideas? What cf hood are you guys running on your supercharged setup other than oem??? Thanks again!
It doesn't really matter...
I guess just pick one that you like.
i like those ram air hoods from rksport but im clueless on how to make functional
I dont like the evo hood..

Personally I'm considering the Ram Air hood, especially if I go with the Supercharger.
The Ram Air hood - basically forces air in the area where the air filter is generally located. This should have the effect of getting more air in the motor. And for a any engine(especially supercharged) - more air usually equals more power..
all ram air hoods i seen, the opening on the underside of the hood goes over the left strut tower area. no where near the filter. at least for J bodies anyway
Im a Xbox 360 fanboy...and damn proud of it!!
i have the invader hood and it dosnt seem too be hit the hood.did it start hitting the hood after your accident?
I never said it ram air hood opened direct over the Air filter box.
But it is on the same side of the engine bay and is fairly close to where the air box is located on J-bodies with the 2.4 TC & Ecotec motors..
Also I don't actually seeing claims that the J-body Ram Air Hoods are considered to be functional - as is the case with the many of F-body Ram Air Hoods.
just get something you like and think looks good because you are going to get little to no function out of any hood out there
wait a min i went outside and the gray lock clip is hitting it just little on the corner.so i took the gray lock off and its far from hitting it now.so you could try that or maybe file the clip down might work.
later,james
Well, the hood was hitting the gray clip also, but it was damaged badly in the crash, so I guess I was just looking for a hood that will clear fine, and the evo seems to have the best ventilation, considering the large vent right above the supercharger. The hood was rubbing before the crash, and started a spiderweb crack. I think I will be going with the evo hood.
