turboing a 2.4L cavilere Z24 convertibale

I'm sure the qestion has been beat to death. DO any of you know if there is a turbo kit on the market or is it all just costum build? if it is either way how easy is it to convert the car over to it and do any of you know of any place that produces valves cams and cranks for this car. I really want to do tit I just am having one of the hardest times finding any thing. I have found a few sites that say they have a supercharger and one even gave a part number for a "GM" part. Dose anybody know about this either? thanks for the help.

www.turbotechracing.com, www.carcustoms.net for the parts you listed.

Your stock crank will be fine and so will your valves and cams, depending on the current condition of your motor. Where are you from?

I'm from utah. as for the condition of the motor its pretty good. I do have 117 thousand miles on it but it looks great. I plan on redoing the pistons and rods. I did find a supercharger that is from G.M. dose anybody have any idea as to how good it is. its an aftermarket part that they pout out for the 2.4L and I have a lot of friends that wish they had gone the supercharger rough rather than the turbo just becuse you dont have to wory about all the piping and the oil lines. As for the staying out of fifthe gear not a problem the guy I bought it from bought it with the stupid automatic option so its a four-speed auto.

I believe the highest anyone has hit with the supercharger designed for the 2.4L (M45) was 232 whp w/o nitrous. I don't know what you want out of the motor, but if you plan on rebuilding it, I would suspect that you are looking for more power than that. Either piece together a custom turbo setup, or find someone willing to fabricate an intake manifold to fit the m62 or m90 supercharger. Just also keep in mind though, that a supercharger will hurt your mpg (A turbo will too but you can keep your engine out of boost with a turbo easier which helps mpg).

Thanks I will keep that in mind. I'm not really worried about the mpg though. dose venom make there intake manifold to fit either of those superchargers that they make for the 2.4L?

alright, the gm performance part has the manifold built in to it. so, unless you intend on fabbing one together, you're going to have to keep that integrated manifold.

sorry the question was if the m62 or m90 supercharger would have to have the intake custom built or if I would be able to bolt it right on to a prefab intake to connect to the 2.4L intake

I don't believe they provide that kit anymore, you'd have to find a group of people to purchase it with in order to even get their interest.

Anyone confirm this?

and 2.4 stock motor can only handle about 250hp before the motor will start to give out on u.....im building a new motor shortly after getting it turboed.....evene then a built motor will destroy the POS isuzu tranny.....so the build never ends....

so what your telling me is that i will have to do the manual tranny swap that i ws thinkinga bout any way in the end right. I already have been looking to build that motor just becouse it is not a good idea to turbo it on a stock parts as far as I am concerned.

Dont waste your time with J-tuners. I put the deposit for a kit down in September and the money was refunded in December. No luck when I tried to contact them. I just received my supercharger today from gmpartsdirect for 1400 + shipping. Good luck with your setup.
