Ok i Know the internal of the ecotec 2.0 supercharge are stronger than those for a 2.2 ecotec... the question is can I use a 2.0 block and put my 2.2 head on it? Maybe I could get a 2.0 ecotec engine for a cheap price so this is why i'm asking the question!

Same block. Just different internals. Your better off just buying another 2.2 and building it up.

actually the block is different too , the crank sensor location if i remember right
plus the 2.0 has theengine oil cooler
you can put a 2.2 head on the 2.0 and visa versa
money is well spent on internals for the 2.2
Then use the oil cooler and call it good
Crank sensor shouldn't be in a different place since it's the same crank design.

sensor is in a slightly different place , from what suncavi said , also the crank wheel is different , and the sensor reads at a different rate
Interesting indeed.

why does everyone want to use a Jbody pcm? if your running a LSJ, get the LSJ pcm, if your running an L61 use and L61 head, theres not much thats swappable between these motors

electronic throttle body maybe? thats my only guess

Because the LSJ computer is completely different than the L61 computer and would require rewiring of some major stuff. Maybe that's why. Just an obvious observation.

why does everyone bring up the throttle body? Just use an L61 TB on it or get a gas pedal from a cobalt, I dont see where the problem is its a whole lot easier than trying to run the car off a j body pcm, rewiring is a part of an engine swap , if dont want to do that, dont do it at all
