Traction Help
Wednesday, October 04, 2006 10:11 PM
I put this in the Boost Forum because hopefully other people have had similar problems.

My car is intercooled, and I'm having traction issues. Around 4k rpm, the wheels basically spin. Not hop, but spin.

The tires aren't that old. (Eagle Regatta 2's) I have a completely stock suspension, transmission mounts, and a solid lower motor mount.

The boost is going to increase within the month so I'm concerned about traction.

What is the most effective way to keep traction at regular tire pressure?

Ummm this one is easy.

CHANGE THE @!#$ SUSPENSION. Wow...that was hard. I mean come on man. You think ANY of the suspension parts made for a 140HP car will do you any good at over 250WHP?

Dude that is not really needed man. Not everyone knows the same info that you do so they are gonna ask, THATS WHY WE HAVE THIS SITE!

Just try and understand that sometime the right info is not immediately obvious to others.

How about lose the cheap-ass Regattas? What speed rating are they, S? T? Of course they're gonna spin, they don't grip worth @!#$!

Put good rubber with a high speed rating on there, you'll notice a world of difference.

If Jedi wasn't a buddy, I would have answered differently. He knows that. Notice how he hasn't posted anything bad back? Because he's smarter than that. This had to be a brain fart on his part.

If I bother YOU that much then don't post in threads that I'm in. It's that simple.

Oh and I like the quote bringing FROM ANOTHER THREAD. Moron.

Doesn't take away from the fact that you are bashing potential customers. And you come off as an a55hole to other members on the site because they don't know that you are a "buddy" of the original poster.

Doesn't seem like Phlatcav caught your so-called "e-sarcasm" either.

Predator is right. your bashing people that could be potential buyers. The fact that you think you know everything, and you have to make smart ass coments to everyone doesn't appeal to people on here

i know personnally i'll never buy anything from your store, just because of the way you act on here.

Some hate my attitude, and some like it. You make it seem like I can't make a single sale because of my attitude. I've always been blunt and to the point...no reason to change, business or not.

LOL, I like how this thread became a warzone.

BlownBlackZ, I didn't even think about the tires being sub-par. I just assumed it was my steelies. Dur. Do you guys have any recommendations for the best tire vs cost? Hypsy was right about the brain fart.

Speaking of Hypsy: He has answered a TON of questions and has taught me a TON of things. I would buy from him anyday. I just might get some suspension components from him. Seeing as how I'm pushing the motor, I'll have to build up other things. (Suspension)

Cavgold96 wrote:thats like taking a stock engine on 10 pounds of boost and dynoing it then asking why it blew up...

I'm on 10 lbs of boost.

STREAKER1369 wrote:LOL this is an awesome post not many j body owners have this problem LOL

I'm glad I could be one of those few and proud J-Body drivers with this problem.

Phlatcav, as for losing the 14" steelies. I like 'em. I really don't like the look of having rims, stock 16" or otherwise, with the stock suspension. Just looks bad. Maybe if the car ever gets dropped, then I'll look more into different wheels.

Thanks for all the helpful comments.

Again - I would buy from Hypsy anyday. You guys should too.

If you ask hypsy an inteligen questions he will show you the world, but asking a question that can be searched with 100 of resualts hypsy shows you attitude.

I have learned much from hypsy with all that he contributes for us, we all should be greatful that he even takes the time to post here and help us out! I don't see him starting a lot of threads, but I do see him answering a lot.

BUT ON SUBJECT:

Yea, tires for sure would help.....
