hello guys,

well let me tell you its been one hell of a journey but we done it. the car is finally running and it runs great. there were some bumps we ran into through this setup but we finally got it figured out. we had issues with the ignition phasing in the calibration but after time finally diagnosed the problem with the ignition phasing. basically the installion was not easy but its not like you get a plug and play system as i would if i drove a more popular sport compact but we all know us j's are on the move with the eco. anyhow, unfortunately we were only able to get a few hours of actual tuning on the street this morning since my brother is much more knowledged with the AEM right now therefore he is doing all the tuning. he had to head back to flint, MI this afternoon for work early but we have it running rather well up to about 6000 rpm after that we didnt get to tune so we just richened it up so i dont do any damage. he is coming back in few weaks for precise tuning. luckily the AEM has a logging program so i can record and email him what its doing and he can tune the cal and mail it back to me, then just flash the computer and repeat until its pretty good. but yes, it does run, thanks for everyone that had faith in us though this setup. i know alot of people were doubtful with this idea but we made it. as for the turbo, i am speechless... what a difference in the car. its feels so good to have instant boost through shifting. the turbo is spooling nicely, makes full boost at about 3200 rpm or so....only ten pounds for now......its just running on the spring in my actuator at the moment. i will be hooking up the perrin boost conroller once we get it running perfect on 10 lbs... this turbo is sickely loud.... i am not @!#$ting when i say this, its alot louder than i suspected...although it isnt exactly a small turbo but yet not huge......but yes seems to be running awesome, my RC 750cc injectors are working beautifuly for the comments on running another car from the exhaust pipe for some dumb ass that doesnt know what he's talking about. i have some pics of the car that will be uploaded soon.......once again thanks for everyone that had faith .........oh and before i forget guys, you all know that this means that there is someone you know on jbody that has a base cal that could be used for anyone else that installs an AEM in thier j body.... its an awesome system and preech it with everything i have seen about it thus far. ...

FIRST AEM CONTROLLED 2.4 RUNNIN THE STREETS.......10psi......SOON TO BE PUSHIN 20...................HAHA........and i must say, isnt it about time for GM to finally get into sport compacts.....all i can say about adam is WOW.....and congrats man.... oh how i do wish i would have built an eco.....oh well who knows what will happen with mine.....

Now, you just have to find someone other than you that can get their hands on one.

The only way an end user can get the EMS is through an AEM approved Universal EMS Installer shop. This shop is FULLY RESPONSIBLE for the successful installation and after installation support of each Universal EMS it sells.

For a shop to become an authorized installer, they must first have completed the basic EMS tuner course and be very familiar with the existing PnP EMS. They must have, or have access to a Dyno. Only then can they be considered to attend a Universal EMS Installer Training Course.
And then it went further on to say that most shops wouldn't sell it as just the unit because they wouldn't want to have to try and fix a customers ride and not know if the harness was ok or not.

Guess it's time to search ebay.

yeah AEM is a little touchy with selling this thing to the public because its not a easy task to install it. but i would be able to get one for anyone on the org if they wanted one. i would be able to get you the ems and the universal wiring harness with the fuse box. i dont even want to post a price right now because everyone will probably lose their breath haha. i would have most likely went with hptuners for my cav but its a 96 and that wasnt an option and no piggy back system was going to work with me running 16-20 psi through my 2.4 like i said, i would be able to get one of these computers for anyone that wanted one, and trust me if you are able to read wiring diagrams you would be able to install the computer and now that i have done it and know what problems your going to run into then you should have no problem with the setup and base cal. im not expecting anyone to really be interested in one of these AEM's but im just throwing the point out there that i could get anybody one if they really wanted. thanks guys
