Ok, my car is still n/a but wont be much longer. So I put my fmu on while i had the spare time. Did it just like your suppose too. Fuel in/out, tee'd fpr vac line, Check valve is on correctly.
I have about 38psi at idle, and when I unplug the fpr i get about 48. When I unplugg the fmu I get about 52 cause thats what I set it at.
Now, Sometimes i get this really odd almost electrical type of a sucking noise? high pitched and well, don't know how else to describe it. No vac leaks, no fuel leaks. I'm not an idiot and installing fmu's arn't exactly difficult. If anyone knows why or what this sound is happening for I'd really appreaciate it.
ps. I know my fuel press is kinda low. I'm buying a pump and afpr and setting my psi at 42/52wot and then set the fmu at about 54 or so. At least i was told to set the fmu a little higher like that to help prevent lean spots.
Are you sure its coming from the fmu?One time i had this weird electrical type noise. It was coming from the p.s pump, the fluid was low.Id check that first if i were you.

Well my fmu is mounted right behind the p.s. pump. I'll go out and check it out but I seriously doubt it.
I installed the fmu, and about 15 minutes later I hear the sound for the first time. Hell of a coincidence if it was.
I know in the cartech instructions....it says something about the fmu oscillating and when it does that it makes this buzz noise......I'll have to look at my instructions and see what causes it.

it generally will do it if i unhook the fpr vac line. But not when i unhook the fmu vac. And yes it is the fmu not the p.s. pump and it does have a oscillating sound.
That would explain it if it is a normal occurance, but the thing is, I'm not boosted yet. So its not even being used/ I just wanted to put it on for ease of install when I put the turbo itself on.
If you can get back to me on that bobby I'd really appreaciate it. Just good to know that it's normal.
Yea, It says if it buzzes under boost. my car isn't making any boost though. I guess I'll try and run it off another vac source and see if it does the same. Other than that I'll send it back
I fixed it.
I looked at the website and it says if it buzzs try and turn it a couple of flats. well when I went to do that I noticed that the bottom nut holding the static screw from moving was a lil loose, not much but was just able to break it loose with my fingers. So I turned it about a 1/4 turn and tightened it down real well and it seemed to take care of it.
I'm glad it's fixed. Got tired of my car sounding like a furby or something.
Good glad to see u got it fixed....Hit me up when u do ur turbo install....I may just be able to come help you out....Maybe
