What are your opinions on Cry02?

It's cheaper then nitrous, safer, and the fact that it's Co2 makes it quite convenient, but are the results worth the money? What are your thoughts?

this has got to be the sickes thing ever. its cheaper then NO2 but just as cold. for use with the intercooler spray bar, you would have to be nuts to us No2 over CRYO2

be careful, reseach local areas to buy co2 first. many people have co2 but don't have the fitting that goes on the cryo2's bottle.

had a friend with an srt4 find that out the hard way

Yeah? So that's just if you have a turbo with an intercooler? Because you don't gain that much compared to nitrous, so i've been hearing it's not worth the money.

as an intercooler sprayer? worth it is relative i guess... if you have a well matched turbo and decent sized intercooler, i don't see it really helping you all that much except in atrociously hot weather. I won't trash it since i don't have any first hand experience, but for me personally, i'd take a water/air intercooler setup that i could put ice in on hot days over an air/air with a spray bar. Thats just opinion though, take it or leave it.

I like the CRYo2 kit. Getting one myself, I have no intercooler myself too worried about hydro locking the engine so I'll just spray it into the Throttle body for a quick cooling on the air before it hits the blower won't help much I know but should help a bit.

Cryo2 does not inject CO2 into your engine. Co2 is an anti-oxidant and will actually choke out your motor if it were to be injected. It is merely a bulb inside the intake tube that cools rapidly as the gas expands.

I have the intercooler water sprayer from them, as well as the chill bar, and I've yet to install it. I will eventually though.

okay, so would it be worth it for me to get a cryo2 system withOUT the intercooler sprayer, since I don't have an intercooler? Or would it be better for me to just get like a Zex dry shot of nitrous, because it's around the same price.

well cro2 have a fuel chiller as well as a intake pill.. the intercooler sprayer is the last in the line...
think about this the co2 that is coming out of that bottle is about -30 deg.. Think about the cooling effect it will have. Colder more nedce air + more hp..

a guy around here used it and it was worth about .2 or something in the 1/4mile with an N/A ecotec if memory serves me right.

cryo2 is not the same thing as no2. cryo2s main purpose is cooling of the intake air, cooling of the fuel in the rail, and then cooling of an intercooler. no2 is a power adder its main funtion is to add power. the only thing that no2 would be use for as the same as cryo2 is the intercooler spray bar but why waste expensite no2 by blowing it to the atmosphere when you can use cheaper co2 to occomplish the same thing in regards to the intercooler spray bar. also as a show peice, purge the co2 insted of the no2, its a hole lot cheaper. i personally plan to run a cryo2 spray bar on my intercooler and a wet shot. they are not the same thing.

comparing the two really isn't fair. the nitrous will have all of the positives of the c02 AND it will also make more power by pushing more air and fuel thru the motor. so....nitrous > cry02

I want to clear something up. some of u are thinking that cry02 is injected into the engine, its not. n02 is. This post is about cooling of the air. n02 can be used to cool the intercooler but its more expensive. If i had the money i would invest in the cry02.

CNFX did dyno testing with an intercooler spray kit using CO2, iirc they used 3 different cars and all gained at least 20 whp. I think the msot was a hair over 30. I think its worth it a lot.

Could you install nitrous and cryo2? Or is that just begging for trouble?

Yes you can inject nitrous into the engine and use CryO2 to cool the AIr and fuel.

I really like the CryO2 especially on a Turbo set up.

I have the intake ball and fuel cooler. I have yet to install it. I am trying to decide what I am going to do with my Cavy. I am thinking about doing a Turbo myself. I already have a spare engine that is getting ready for the build.

My Friend has the DEI CryO2 on his Jetta GLI he is seeing up to 30hp gain. He has the intake kit, Fuel cooler, and intercooler spray bar.

Here is a pic on the engine where you have a good look of the intake cooler.

Here you can see the Intercooler spray bar

And for giggles his 2 10lb bottle setup

If anyone is going to Indy Bash the 3rd weekend of August. We will not be there Friday, But Saturday and Sunday we will. His Jetta should be there and one of us will be more than happy to show you how it works.

Just FYI he is using a GT20RS turbo
