Well I picked up a used m45 just recently for my 2.4
And I'm worried about one thing.
The guy I bought it from said that it was good to go out of the box, just slightly used... however. I was able to pull the hub off of the shaft with minimal effort. I thought that the hub was heated, seated, and then when it was cooled, it was sealed onto the shaft tightly.
I don't want to go ahead with the install without this being cleared up. I do have a machine shop here in town that is willing to remake the hub and fix my supercharger shaft. I'm probably going to go ahead and do that because the hub and the shaft are just that messed up. I don't have any means of getting a photo here online. but take my word for it guys.
I'm just uber nervous that I can pull the hub off.
opinions?
Are you sure it is messed up? I am wondering if the previous owner took it off for some reason and never got it on tight. Maybe a few wacks with a rubber mallet and called it good. Does it look like it could go on futher?
FORGET GIRLS GONE WILD WE HAVE GOVERNMENT SPENDING GONE WILD!
Tried the mallet and no it couldn't go any further. it would slip on all the way. and I could pull it off with my bare hands.
Take my word for it man. itw as messed up.
if it were possible to push the hub on anymore, it'd be rubbing against the snout.
Either way it's at the machine shop getting fixed up.
id say its the pulley being stretched
just get a new quick change pulley and hub
ah it's being taken care of.... So much for the surprise eh?
Pics later.
