How much boost can you run with your engine stock? Who is running how much boost and how long have you been doing it. What mods have you made to the engine to do so? I

the amount of boost is defined by your tuning ability. they say that 6psi can be run on a bone stock motor and fuel system. however......modify the fuel ability and more boost can be achieved. its not so much how much boost can you run but how much HP will stock components take before failing. even that one is a debate. some say 250hp before rod failure. others say 300 can be achieved. alot depends on who's driving and how they drive after HP has been added.

To further what PurpleZed has said... it is also dependant on the condition of your motor, as well as how you apply the power to the engine. Wanna do a hard launch? You risk stressing the motor a lot faster than if you gradually added that power....

Personally I went way beyond the HP and PSI that most people and "experts" said an LD9 can take... but I was mostly careful to apply the power graudally so as not to shock the motor suddenly.... that's how you snap axles, differentials, rods, etc...

To stay safe.... with a proper tune, good combustion chamber temps (with an intercooler helping) and some spirited driving I wouldn't go over the 250 whp mark... that's already plenty for most FWD cars anyhow.
