ok i am looking at these nitrous / CO2 intercooler spray bars for my car and i am wondering how well you think they work and if you have them or know some one who has let me know how they liked them... i will probably just use C02 as its easier and cheaper to get here but on ocations i would use the Nitrous as well

josh, i was talking to a friend in cali, who has one and he says its night and day on a hot day...seriously cools everything down like crazy.....he said he thinks about 10 15 hp gain on a hot day..and keeps engine a HELL of a lot safer with the Air temps....
And it looks sexy as @!#$kk
haha i say do it up....

I think cryo2 (something like that anyways) makes kit that run along your fuel rail, across something else, and then finally on to your intercooler. I read a test on one of them and it was just as the guy above says, very noticable differences when used.
STREET ANTIX, it's coming...
Derek ill have you get his msn if you have him on there... to bad you sold you nitrous kit ... i could have bought it and just converted it... oh well
yea i was looking at that cryo 2 thing... i think i might get it... ill look more and read more into them though... but with the placement of my intercooler it isnt in direct path of the opening on my bumper... only about 1" is and the rest sits behind my bumper which i can imagine is not the best for cooling... here is a picture so you can see what i mean

Its much more effective to just spray the N2O into your intake.

if im not mistaken its not actually nitrous that is sprayed onto your intercooler, its something else but right now im too lazy to look what it is, it just effectively decreases the incoming airs temp dramatically, so your not actually using any mitrous on your intercooler.
feel free to correct me though if im wrong
realy, cuz my intercooler spray bar uses n2o
You can used either N2O or CO2. CO2 is slightly less effective but is drasticly cheaper to purchase.

well I rather use co2 for the fact that it works just as well and it wont burn a hole in your pocket everytime you need to refill it

boost will be soon for me....
use co2 is -80 not good enough? its cheaper and safer

CNFX did dyno testing on THREE different cars WITH co2 ntercooler sprayer and without and each car averaged a gain of 20 whp while spraying and under full boost..
I think the lowest was 14 whp and the highest was 26 or 27

Sorry to bring this back from the dead, but I am curious and possibly considering a intercooler spray bar setup. My first question is, QBE those cars test they were all running CO2 correct, not nitrous? My second question is, if you run nitrous through the intercooler isn't that essentially just like running nitrous directly to the engine which be like running a 10-20shot or something? Couldn't nitrous cause some problems opposed to the CO2. I am planning on using CO2 because of its cost, but would still like to clear up my questions about nitrous in case I decide to try it out from time to time at the track. Thanks in advance!

no, because you're spraying the compressed gas (n2o or co2) on the outside of the intercooler. it actually never makes it into the intake stream.

So basically the drastic cooling is what is creating all the hp gains?

For you and Tim
This isnt to create power from using nitrous. It helps to cool things down...thats all its for...
Co2 Will work fine. Iv worked with both alot, and they both get plenty cold to make a difference...

I know exactly how the system works. I still stand by my original post.

if you plan on going to the track with the intercooler sprayer, most will not allow them. Just an FYI.
I don't see it anywhere in the rules to my local track. Whats the reason for not allowing them?

This is just a guess, it will cause condensation to form on the intercooler which will drip on the track.

With intercooler sprayers, basically if it's water, it's a no no. You can use a nitrous intercooler sprayer in NHRA Sport Compact events, but it's counted as a second power adder.

That's exactly it. Some tracks will absolutely not allow it, I know I went to a track in MI and they said no to my cryo2 intercooler sprayer because of the condensation build up on the tracks, same reason they tell you not to run your a/c when your racing/staging.
I have the Cry02 System and it add's a little like 10-20hp.....but mostly cause your cooling the motor down....I will be also adding a nitrious kit to the car. So then I will have Turbo, Co2, N2o....I'll have to get it dyno to see if that set up does anything.

so youre gonna run 10's and dyno 600hp?
