It does not give you 250 HP That build book doesn't state that the s/c gives you 250 hp it states that the s/c is one of the options that can help you acheive 250 hp.

GM Performance Parts has developed a bolt-on supercharger kit (part number 1780003) for the 2.2L ECOEC engine. Fits 2003-2005 model year Cavalier and Sunfire. Also fits certain 2002 Cavalier and Sunfire equipped with Delphi fuel inejectors. This kit contains all the components necessary for installation. This kit will boost your stock ECOTEC engine to 250 HP. The intake manifold included with this kit has a built in air to water intercooler. All parts shown in pictures are included in this kit.
ECOTEC Supercharger Installation
Thank you for choosing GM Performance Parts as your high performance source. GM Performance Parts is committed to providing proven, innovative performance technology that is truly more than just power.GM Performance Parts are engineered, developed and tested by the factory to exceed your expectations for fit and function.
The ECOTEC supercharger package was designed by GM to be a true performance bolt on package. When this package is properly installed, it looks like original factory equipment. The fact that the parts have been designed to GM standards ensures a quality product. All of the fasteners required for installation are included in the package. All of the service components for the package are available from any GM dealer.
The package was designed to retain the use of cruise control, air conditioning and other vehicle options. The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) calibration is a key factor in both performance and drivability. This supercharger package has its own unique calibration designed specifically for ECOTEC engines used in Chevrolet Cavaliers and Pontiac Sunfires. The package has been calibrated to GM standards, and the package is emission legal in all 50 states. As part of the calibration process for this package, the supercharged engine was tested on a dynamometer to develop the base fueling and spark requirements. All of this testing is necessary to develop a package that meets GM standards for performance, drivability, and durability.
straight outta the box , the needed parts for the intercooler system ARE NOT there
youll get around 200 hp out of a stock car with the kit
full header back exhaust , larger tb , better intake , hooking up the intercooler system , maybe a smaller pulley , that should get you close to 250hp at the flywheel
the s/c will be alot less troublesome , over the long range , less chance of oil leaks , and boost leaks
tuning is better due to the s/c being a GM perfromace part , where a turbo you have to get it tuned
right now there isnt alot of pictures of anyone intercooler set up
phlatcav , and i are both still working on ours
it just sounds like it would be a pain in the ass to get it set up, but hey i appreciate the comments so far
its alot easier than doing a turbo
there is no drilling your oil pan or main girdle , like you have to do for a turbo
oh ic, well when will you be doin your intercooler for the eco s/c, cuz i will follow how you do it
im gonna do it intercooled, and header, full 2.5" exhaust, bigger tb, ported and polished head, the GM performance Cams, but i wonder how those will work with the supercharger, adjustable cam gears, intake, motor mounts, and more, im hoping to get like 250-275hp out of it reliably. but i will definitely follow how you do the intercooler install
mine is like airtonics , im using the redline/coblat ss/sc , pump bracket and lines from the pump to the s/c , and a heat exchanger i got off ebay that is gonna be mounted like a intercooler to the bumper
phlatcav is using a cobra heat exchanger
they are like a mini radiator
oh, ic, that should be fun to put together and install
does anyone else have the kit and could tell me how it runs and what they think about it
I don't feel like wasting a new post for a few questions so...
-The one from paceparts.com says its intercooled in the intake manifold, so what else do you need?
-Where could I go to have this installed - a gm dealership?
-Do I need to get a full exhaust as soon as I get the supercharger?
-I don't get what reflash is.
Thanks for answering these and please don't tell me to search cause I have researched this and just need some quick answers. I am just a new when it comes to boost. If someone wants to email me instead of kind of thread jacking this post then they can.
-yes you get it installed at an authorized GM dealer if you want the warranty but if not then install it yourself
-i would recommend that you get a 2.5" exhaust when you put it on since you are creating boost and you dont want as much backpressure as the tock 2" pipes
-a reflash is where they go into your stock ecu and reprogram your fuel maps and everything elsae to accomadate the s/c and make it run right, coorect me if im wrong people
-as for the intercooler, i think 97cavie24ls(JDM&00s/c sedans) explained it pretty well, just the post he left me about half-way down
Thanks for clearing up these issues. I plan on getting the s/c before I graduate high school so I have until the end of 08. I will definetly have the dealer install it because I want the warranty and I don't want to deal with the install. How much do you think they might charge for the install? So a reflash mostly has to do with electrical/computer tuning in order to accomidate the s/c? And the dealership can do this also right? Also, will the dealership be able to do the whole intercooler thing? Thanks for the help, and btw bonnett your car is sick.
i have no idea how much they will charge, but no matter what it will be worth it and yes the dealership will do it since its part of the s/c install, and im sure they could do the intercooler install but it will prolly involove you buying some more gm parts, not sure what they are
Thanks man, if any one else wants to further comment on my questions feel free
the heat exchanger (radiator part) you cant get from GM
im using the factory pump , and 2 lines from the redline
i should have the pics from my install up this weekend , it will show more of what im talking about

Man that just weirded me out. You were born in the 90's and are thinking about s/c your car, thats just weird for me. In high school I was just worried about getting a pos car
Good for you though....well I think I heard Phlatcav tell me that the install at a Chevy dealership is about $900. But its not that hard of an install if you have some knowledge of your engine. It would have taken me about six months where the godd ones can get it done in about a day. But that price is without the heat exchanger I believe...
