Hey guys,
I've had some concern lately...................
I bought my turbo rebuilt directly from garrett, 7 or 8 months ago, I since have blown out the hotside oil seal 2 times on different occations, JUST the hotside oil seal, NOT the cold side/ compressor side oil seal.
I have rebuilt the turbo twice. replacing JUST the hotside oil ring..... it runs perfect, no wierd sounds, boosts great, everything seems to be very good, no smoking now nothing....... I since installed a 3/4" return line (the turbo kept blowing because I had a return line which was too small).
My question is..... drum roll hehehe....
I noticed when I was rebuilding the turbo the first time and even the second time, that the inside where the compressor wheel is, is all cut up and looks like the compressor wheel was hitting it (obviously from when it was blown), the turbo runs great with minimal shafts play side to side and NO shaft play laterally....... but the cuts in the metal on the compressor housing concern me.
Thanks for any advice....
