Downpipe Flange Help...What Size is This?
Thursday, March 16, 2006 3:02 PM
I bought my turbo off a private seller in really good shape--low miles and no shaft play. It's a Turbonetics T3 mated to a Garrett housing.

My problem is this:

I've ordered (2) flanges so far that are supposed to work on T3's, T4's, Hybrids and a slew of others. But this is what I'm getting out of them--they're both too small. No one really seems to know what size I need. I called ATP Turbo and they weren't much help. I can make this flange myself out of stainless or steel, but would MUCH rather buy it along with my wastegate and oil drain flanges--all in one shot.

Hope you can help, guys...I'm getting nowhere with this.

I had the same problem. You need a mercedes style T3 5 bolt flange. Here's a link to where I got mine:

3/4 of the way down his flange page there's a pulldown menu for it. It's the one that costs $24.

Buddy, you are a life saver!

Is there any chance you could measure the bolt holes (center-line to center-line) so I can know for a fact it'll fit? I'm kinda gun-shy after ordering 2 of the wrong ones so far...lol. But even if you can't, I'm still gonna order it tomorrow. Nothing left to lose, right?

How about visual proof that I have the exact same thing that you have?

Just order it. I know for a fact that there's only two different styles of the 5 bolt design.

Judging by the fact that his looks exactly like the size of mine, they're both .48 a/r T3 turbine housings.

I figured it was a .48, seeing how its stamped on the flange.... what i was wondering was the stock application, ie what vehicle it came on. i have never seen that pictular one on a car.
