Need Help with my water alky brew

OK I have the 100psi pump on a coolingmist.com kit, I currently am running wiperfluid which is 10% methanol and 90% i have no idea what else, i made the mistake of running tap water before im going to run distilled now, what im wondering is what brew makes the biggest power gain or cools off the IATs the most.

these are the options i thought of
1. 100% distilled water
2. Wiper fluid with 10% methanol
3. 50/.50 water alcohol, what kinda alky can i use rubbing alcohol? what do the alcohol dragsters use?
4. 50/50 water methanol, ive heard conflicting things here about whether or not water can be mixed with methanol, if it can is methanol even safe to be injecting into the motor

ive been running about a 55 distilled , and 45 methanol(heat in the yellow bottle) , 60 psi pump and M2 nozzle

at the track i ice the s/c down , and i can keep the s/c temps under 100 degrees , from burnt out to the end of the track

most pump gas has methanol in it already

When I hear about people running washer fluid, it kinda worries me. I mean, aren't there detergents and stuff in there that help clean your windshield that you don't really want going through your engine??

people have used wiper washer fluid for along time , and ive never heard of any problems related to the washer fluid

It's Gas line antifreeze and water remover........

Straight from the back of the bottle:

For quicker winter starts
Prevents gas line freeze ups
Prevents rust and corrosion

Contains: Methyl Alcohol

Hey Man,I've been running 49% methanol,51% water with the ESM 2.6,full 2.5" exhaust,FPR,cooling mist set-up etc and have had no problems, runs great!! If your interested as the stuff is kinda of pricey compared to washer fluid and the heet stuff,(www.snowperformance.net) Good luck!!

Why not just buy straight methanol alcohol and mix it with distilled water. Its really cheap and you don't have to worry about the other products used in antifreeze or washer fluid. Any hardware store should have it because its mainly used as a laquor thinner.

Hmm that stuff on snowperformance.net is interesting.....I might have to buy a bottle and give it a try......and yea thats kinda pricey lol.....especially when the heet goes for .99 cents a bottle and water is like 80 cents for a gallon lol

I personaly ran just the same as you... washer fluid... but i also mixed in about a 50/50 mix of pure meythanol.... from my dads stash..... works great... you can also get this at more home depo stores in your local paint department.. thats what alot of my dads buddys use in their Grand Nationals.... mixed in with a big of this special lube so you dont dry your seals out... or just do what i do a mix with windsheild washer fluid and you will be fine

kickass that stuff from snowperformance is prob what im going to go with, its easy no mixing i just pour it right in, thats exactly what i was looking for, i just hooked up my system again the other day and im still trying to fine tune it to come on at 3-4psi instead of 1psi, hopefully the new belt comes in before sat and I can get this thing on the dyno to see what it can really do, I plan to upgrade to a 150psi pump soon also

Hey Rodimus,I've tried the washer fluid route and yeah the stuff I bought from snow is a bit pricey but there def.is a difference!! I ended up buying a case which is (6) 1 gallon jugs, already mixed. It sounds like the mix that Josh is using would work well too.The methanol complements the washer fluid.Your call and good luck.P.S. KEEP YOUR NOZZLE AS FAR AWAY AS POSSIBLE FROM THE T/BODY!! I'm using the angled nozzle and have not had any issues with my TPS yet.

i run the heet/distilled water mix stuff with a m2 injector. soon to be m4 awaiting install.

yea my injector is pretty far away biggest thing thats killing me is the 100psi pump id rather have the 150

i think there is a way you can turn up the PSI on the shurflo pumps.

there is a little allen screw on the top of it. i read about it somewhere. (either with enginerunup, or devilsown's sites. i forget)

i would just switch to a bigger injector, i posted a link on where to get them from. it is half the price shipped from the place i got it from compared to anyone else .

i think i payed 8.00$ shipped for a injector.

One of the local GTP guru's shared this with me in regards to alky and h20 injection on blower setups:

Aalky is a bad idea. It will eat the teflon coating off the rotors. Water will do the same, but it's a lot safer and takes a lot longer. The only safe way to do injection of any kind is a direct-port setup.

There's been a lot of debate over the effectiveness of the teflon on the rotors. Here's the story. When the teflon's gone, you'll lose MAYBE half a pound of boost. BUT, sc outlet temps climb way up. In other words, that teflon coating is what maintains your supercharger's efficiency. Given that the M90 is relatively inefficient as it is (3.25 pulley spins it above it's max efficiency rating) throwing caution to the wind and injecting alky before the s/c is a risky and potentially costly investment.

ive only heard the eating of the coating as more of a myth

im not saying it wont happen , but for the time the vapor is going through the s/c is very short

and i know alot of locals here that are not using alky injection , and running pullies smaller than 3.0 , 1 is even using a 2.4 i think , his gtp has ran 12.2's

and is hoping to get into the 11's soon

i heard stories about the teflon. but many people i know researched it and from there info i am not worried about mine.

with the GTP's , the bearings can go out on the s/c and the rotors go up and down wearing off the teflon off of each other.

ya i looked into that boost cooler stuff. looks nice, no pre mixing . but it contains meth/water which i can get 4 little bottles of that heet stuff for a few bucks, and a gallon of distilled water at a store for a dollar and probably have the same mixture. basically 5$ and you are set.

but let us know how it works for you , i am interested as well.
thanks

Well I ordered a case of it last night, they ass rape you on shipping the @!#$ is only 24.95 but its 20 bucks for shipping, oh well I hope it works good

I prob wont have it for sat though at the dyno and my new belt isnt here yet either, I have the water injection tuned exactly at the psi I want it to come on at, anyone know how to boost the output of the pump on that allen screw which way to turn it for max psi?

it will not eat the teflon off your rotors.... well not at the rate any of us have to really worry about... it would take on average about 170,000-200,000kms on the engine to actually ware the coating off.. and thats asuming pure alcohol spray, which no one is doing... the lines in most (or mine any way) alcohol kits are coated with teflon as well... the alcohol companys wouldnt do this if it ate it.... i did TONS of reasearch on this and emailed and phoned quite a few people to get all their opinions on it... and no one said it would eat it off right away... they said LONG LONG LONG term it will but thats about it...
