aight ive been searching and reading much from this site and www.homemadeturbo.com and meaning im going to be getting my sisters 2001 sunfire i figured id go ahead and start planning my next project...
i want to make a custom d.i.y turbo to run about 6-12 psi. i know that theres engine work involved in all this of course but the necessity really is the turbo itself.
now ive read threads on here from ken 2.2 and lee that state they put there turbo setup together for under 1,000 dollars. this made me very intrigued. so guys and anyone else the knows, how can i put a turbo setup on the sunfire for under 1000 dollars and it still be stable and a daily driver?

then came all the little things during the install........... and maintainence.... and gas........
turbo is not cheap.... getting the parts is....

Right now I'm workin on my car's engine, but I just put together a turbo kit for around $800. That included upgrades to the fuel system. I got parts from the local junkyard, well atleast ones that I dont worry about it being in ruff shape, like BOV, intercooler, vaccum lines, etc... I bought the turbo and manifold off ebay as well as the cartech FMU.

well as long as you know what your getting into.... your good to go ....
homemadeturbo.com doesn't know much about j-bodys.... they are honduh based........
they won't steer you in the correct direction.... just keep asking questions here and you'll be boosted in no time .............
8psi is a safe route for daily driver... intercooled of course....

I beg to differ, alot of people over there know what they are talking about turbo wise, they may not know about j-body's that well but they will steer in the right direction
