2002 Eco Hahn fuel rail setup
Sunday, February 19, 2006 12:02 PM
I have less than 2 weeks before my install for the Hahn stage 2 kit. I have a problem though. Mine is a 2002 and has a different fuel rail setup than the 2003+. The photo in the installation manual shows an 03+ setup. Could someone with an 02 post a few photos of the fuel rail connection to the FMU. There are a couple of components that I'm not sure where they go. Specifically the plastic piece that is shaped kind of like a fishing bobber (black and white). Also a tiny plastic piece, I mean tiny that looks like a Legos piece. Sorry about the descriptions but if anyone needs more info let me know.
Thanks.

You should consider swapping to an 03+ rail setup

Why should I swap? Hahn provided all the the necessary pieces. I just need some info as to what the weird pieces are.

the bobber piece is probably the check valve.

Ok I did confirm it is the check valve. Funny thing is, on the packing list it is mentioned as "remove from fuel regulator box". On the parts list it reads -1 part. Note the minus sign. So did you guys all ditch your check valve then? Or do the 03's not have this "unique" piece? Still, if anyone has any photos of the 2002 setup, I would really appreciate it.

The one way check valve plugs into the barb with the adjustment knob on it. Connect the hose to the white end of the chek valve, the black end must be uninterupter and blow off to atmosphere. The check valve pluus the preload spring under the center screw away from the valve so stock fuel pressure can be achieved under manifold vacuum conditions. Im going to run one on my 03 rail setup but i know people who dont run one so i dont know what to say.
