gm/charger

I got my gm supercharger today and will be putting it on this weekend. I wanted to know if any body knows want size or p/n the belt should be. I know theres one in the kit but i have a under drive crank pulley and I'm sure the belt will need to be alittle smaller. By the way were is the best place to buy smaller pulleys for the supercharger.

thanks for the help

You want to put your stock pully back on. If you underdrive it, you won't make as much power.

Yep. This is one accessory you don't want to be under-driving.

yeah you need to take off the underdrive pulley its worthless

underdrive pulley=low boost due to slower spinning S/C. the aftermarket S/C pulley's seem to be best gotten from Pulleyboys.

i got a reflashed ECM before i did my install. its a smooth install. everything is well laid out in the GM kit. the pics in the instructions aren't for @!#$ but its well worded. install took us about 4 hrs and she was boosting hard and running perfect. 1 or 2 helpers make the job much easier then doing it yourself.

see that is the only upside I see to this charger set up from GM ......... (v.s a turbo kit).....

it takes like 4 hours.......... well and the obvious.... your boosted.......

you could go to the track friday night

wager with someone .........

say "see you tomorrow, double or nothing"
and come back a second faster..........................

WOOT..... go GM charger kit......

let us know how she goes................

take some INSTALL pics....................

here's a few from my install last sunday

we installed the MSD DISII ignitiona aswell and then took it out for a few good pulls to check A/F and knock retarding to be sure things went well. even running 87 octane gas cause that's what was left in the tank, it maintained a 12.4:1 A/F under full boost and WOT and only went as far as knock retarding of 5degrees. having the already flashed ECM to instal was a big help. it howls awsome. next up is the smaller puleys and some alky injection.

good luck taking the ECM out and getting it flashed at the dealer i talked to 5 dealers and none were willing or had the tools to do this.. just a heads up

BTW this was more than a year ago and things may have changed, so id find out before you bother taking it out

good luck

all GM requires is the pt# of the flash and they can do it on their countertop. takes 5 mins. otherwise they have to take the Tech II tool out to your car. i had one flashed before i did my install so i still have a spare one.

its really hard to say. what are your zaust mods?? how forced induction works is very dependant on a good sized, free flowing zaust. GM boasts 190BHP on a stock car but adding things to make it breath better will help that number out alot.
