dash lites dimmed after installing aftermarket rcv

I installed an after market reciver about 3-yrs ago on my 2000 Cavalier. Has anyone experienced the lites dimmed on certain areas of the dash guages??? I noticed this some time ago and I was wondring if it has anything to do with the aftermarket recicer. I used one of those Crutchfield wiring harness to connect the reciver to the factory harness, this way I didn't have to splice into the wires. Thanks in advance for any help.

When I installed my CD player in my 2000 Cavalier the light that illuminates your milage went out. Now I have to look at it in the light at an angle to know when to take it in for an oil change!

That sound like a common j-body failure. I don't beleive your aftermarket headunit had any thig to do with it going dim. The led behind the numbers just went out.
The fix:
Go buy another Cluster! Not worth the time to fix it!

A) smack the top of the dash real good a few times

B) check your scroll thing on the left side called the "Dimmer"
