Alright guys, I recently purchased a stock MP3 Deck from an 04 Cavalier from a member on this board. (Thank you by the way) Anyways, I put it in and everything was great until I turned on my car- the screen reads "locked" on the deck and you cant do anything with it. I figure I need some sort of Anti Theft code- but I dont have it and I have no idea how to enter it. So, I was wondering if anyone had any idea of how I could retreive the code and enter it, hopefully you guys wont say what I think you will: "Take it to the dealer" but if you do, then I will shell out the money for it.

There is no code on the newer theftlock radios. You have to take it to the dealer. Shop around though. Some dealers want $70+ to flash it, some want $40. Its a five minute process and I got mine done for free just by asking the right person. If a shop tech tells you a high price. Leave and come back the next day, talk to someone else. Also, don't give the tech a long story about how you replaced your radio with a better one etc. etc. Just say "my radio says "locked", what do I do. Let them assume its your stock one if they want to. Good luck.
