My brother just bought a cd player for his 2nd gen cavi, I hooked it up, I know what im doing, ive done it a million times befor, well All the wires are connected right. But the thing will not turn on. The only way to turn it on is to touch the Power(red) wire with the Memory(yellow) wires all together. it will turn on but it will not keep its preset stations or will not turn on auto, you have to manually do it. I checked the fuses. I cant figure it out...any help guys
Maybe you accidentally got the red and yellow wires ran backwards.. make sure your yellow goes to a constant and the red goes to an ACC type ..
I actually did check that. I am really baffoled about this
Mine does the same thing...... anyone else have any suggestions?
Are you using a harness adaptor? If it's the constant wire that's not working correctly, I would try running a wire from the fuse box on a fuse that always has power or all the way to the battery. That way at least you'll eliminate a problem with the harness/adaptor.

okay, the 12v constant wire.... orange/blk on 95-99.... has absolutely no power to it.... ever.... it's supposed to have 12v all the time... hence "constant, but my volt meter won't read anything, even when the key is in ACC. I know it's not the meter, because it reads the 12v from the ignition wire.
Besse, not sure exactly what you're trying to say.... elaborate please, and sorry for bothering.
well then use a circut tester or the mutimeter that you were using...finda spot in the fuse box thats always on..run a wire from there to your 12v constant
I have a sony, and a cd changer i want to power for a minute while i eject my 10 cd's in my changer........Can someone please let me know the easiest way to do this?
if i am reading right, all i have to do is go to my fuse box, find a 12v source, push the red/yellow wires in there and i should get power??
Please help!!!!
thanks,
check your interior light fuse if its blown the headunit will never come on it happenned in my friend cavy 3 weeks ago!
