I went to Best Buy yesterday to purchase a headunit. Got the headunit and they handed everything I need to so the install. Included was a really long harness with a speaker on it. I asked him what it was for and he told me that you must relocate the factory headunit to ratain the chime and to prevent the airbags from deploying while driving down the road. Now, I already knew that you had to do that to keep your chime, but I don’t give a flying you know what about the chime. Has anybody heard anything about this airbag thing?

everytime i go to bestbuy i ask them how hard it is to install a stereo in a 2000+ cavalier, they give me the usual airbag deal (250$ install), i'm like no buddy it says it right in the owners manual if you remove the deck you loose the chimes. This one guy says my friends knows the vice president of GM and he told him about the whole airbag thing... i laughed in my head, he also told me don't believe what people write on the internet because i told him that there is alot of info about 2000+ j-body audio. Then he was also telling that his girlfriend has a sunfire and he did the install and the airbags were hooked up to the radio, blah blah.
