New Deck with Subwoofer crossover
Monday, April 04, 2005 8:32 AM
I know theres many out there now in days. I'm looking for one with a subwoofer crossover for low pass and so I can adjust just the bass on the subwoofers rather then everything including my highs moving when I raise the bass, it just messes up my highs sounding and I know my subwoofers can do more. I am not looking for any LCD screens decks or anything like that.

But heres the catch, I'm looking for one with a extra nob/buttons right on the deck so I can adjust my subwoofer bass right on the deck rather then having to hit a few buttons to get to the menu.. You know, basicly having a bass control for the subwoofers with a single click of a button (Up and Down gain) or a knob.

I know there is one out there, my friend saw it before, he just can't remember the name or brand of it. I believe it was Clarion though.

My Pioneer Premier DEH-P8MP has a big "7-way rotary" knob. To get to my sub settings I push it once, turn right one click to "Audio" menu. Then turn it a few clicks to the right and I'm at my sub LPF option.

Alpine's have a button just for their "Bass X-pander" feature...

Alpine CDA-9833. Last years' model. Retailed for $450 locally, can be found MUCH cheaper though. Don't look at Crutchfield, cause they don't have them anymore. I got one of the last few they had... for $300.

Two-Way Crossover with New Direct Subwoofer Key
The Two-Way Crossover Adjustment is a convenient tool for tailoring your sound — and your subwoofer’s levels. Right from your headunit, you can adjust your High-Pass Filter, which will protect your front and rear speakers from power-robbing deep bass notes. Now, use the Subwoofer adjustments to make sure your bass performance has the kick you like. In fact, you can just hit the new Subwoofer Direct button to fine tune the settings at any time!

My Alpine CDA-9827 has a bass control, you just push in the knob once and you're there.

The clarion 835MP had a dedicated button to adjust sub volume. It was a decent deck, but last year clarion took that button off. I had that deck for about two months and upgraded to the alpine cda-9835. Just push in the volume button to get sub volume.
