Sub under seat????
Sunday, March 27, 2005 6:01 PM
Has anyone mounted an 8" sub under one of the front seats?
Is it possible, or does it put out a decent sound?

Thanks

Sure anythings possible, but I would steer away from it. Think of sliding the seat back and forth, the fitment issues, not to mention the box would be small as hell and the sound would almost definilty not equal the time and money spent to do this, but its your car and money.

There are low clearance subs, but your gonna get one hell of a muffled sound. If you want it for the vibration, just get some bass shakers under your seats.

not enough room. you'd have to modify the floor to get a good response.

You can put it in between your 6x9's on your rear deck.

The sub under the seat is for the girlfriend
It goes on the passenger side.
Doesn't work too good though. At least not back in high school it didn't LOL.

Get one of the free air subs those might fit under a front seat. I know JL used to make a free air 8. I think the model was like JL ib4 8 or something like that. I know there was ib4 somewhere in it. ib4 stands for Infinite Baffel something or other. Sorry that's kind of a bad description. basically you don't need a box for the speaker though.

actuallly thats not how a infinite baffle sub works at all. infinite baffle just basicall uses a huge size box about the size of yoru trunk. u can jus set the sub on the floor and it will work, the only way of doind infinite baffle under your seat would be to literally cut a hole in the floor of the car and mount the sub to it,

if the sound waves from teh front of the sub interact with sound waves from the back of the subs the sound will cancel each other out and u will have no output
