Ok, so i installed a set of new HIDS the other day, along with a brand new ACdelco battery cuz the old one was shot. Now i just went outside to start my car and the battery is down to about 9 volts for some reason and the car wont turn over. It started fine when i was working on the car, and but now that it sat for a couple days it drained it.
What should i check with my HID install that could cause a battery drain like that? or is there anything that could have caused it from that at all?
Did you fully charge it?
Also, make sure the terminals are tight.
at the risk of sounding like a complete n00b... you have to fully charge a battery before installing it? i threw it in and it started my car just fine :\
and anyways the terminal was a little loose because i was tired of wrenching it off when i was installing my HIDs and forgot to retighten when iw as done, so i tightened it last night and it seems to be holding a charge much better now, im guessing that was the problem.
Meh. Depends how long it sat on the shelf at the store, and how long you worked on the car without charging it etc, etc.
Most likely was just the loose cable though.
If it's a brand new battery you shouldn't have to charge it.
