OK, I have an HHR now but still engine noise is engine noise!!
The battery is in the rear of my HHR from the factory.
I hooked positive and negative directly up to the battery...BUNCH of noise. So I moved the ground to a grounding plate from the factory...no change in noise.
So my question is, should I leave it on the ground plate, and persue getting new RCAs?
I have Rockford Fosgate RCAs (since I work car audio at Best Buy and can get them CHEAP!!) I ran Knu Konceptz-Krystal Kable in my Cavalier and didnt have a problem at all (and I liked them better since they offer a 4-channel RCA) and I am going to go back with that more than likely. Am I at least going down the right road, looking at RCAs? Should I try and sand off the paint in a new area and bolt the ground there and see if it changes? I am just not so sure it is even worth my time to do that or just rip out the RCAs and get some better quality.
What do Y'All think?
Do you happen to have a pioneer headunit? they have rca ground problems
yup read up on that, that was me back in the day. Tried almost everything to fix it, then grounded out the RCA's and now it is perfect
