I'm going through fiberglass trunk setup doodles and I thought about having two subs firing downwards. The bottom of the trunk is pretty rigid so I think it might sound decent but I'm not sure.
Any thoughts?
bass (lower frequency range of music) is not directional. it does not need to be played in a certain direction to be heard. it can be heard BETTER if played in a certain direction, which is way generally people say to aim your subs towards your the back of the trunk rather than towards the inside of the car.
personally ive never really noticed much of a difference and always aim my sub which ever way is convenient. it will sound fine if you aim it down.

Won't hurt a thing. I've done boxes for my jeeps with subs firing down and firing back and no problems at all.
I got a single 15" firing into my spare tire compartment. It rattles a lot so you better put some rubberized coating or dynamat down...

I'm not thinking into my spare tire. I'm thinking from the trunk "roof" down. I was really just looking to see if anyone had done it and if they got good results. I'm thinking the path would be as clear as a corner loaded box. Guess the only way to see is to try : \
