CAL ERR

Hi everyone,

I have a stock CD/Cassette/Radio in my 2000 Cavalier z24. The car is completely stock. Today when it the radio said "CAL ERR" and reset the time and presets. It stayed like this for about 5 - 10 minutes and then started working again. Has anyone seen this before and if so, what does this mean?

Hi Steven,

Thanks for the response. I realize that is what it stands for, but what needs to be calibrated on the radio? The only thing that comes to mind is the CD laser, but why would that cause an entire reset of the radio? Also I wasn't even using the CD player when this happened.

Its the calibration the car i do belive have you swapped ecu's or had any theft light issues latley?
